Class of 2021 Enrollment Orientation Program, Island Clean-Up on April 22

All incoming 9th graders and at least one parent or guardian must attend the ninth annual Enrollment Orientation program at DeLaSalle on Saturday, April 22. The program starts at 9:00am and families may check in at the A Building entry starting at 8:30am.  This program has proven to be a great help to incoming students and parents as they transition to DeLaSalle.

All students will take an Algebra mastery exam. During the exam, parents will attend presentations that will help specifically with parent orientation to DeLaSalle. Then, starting at 10:30am, the annual Student Activity Fair occurs, during which coaches and moderators from our many Student Activities will be available to meet incoming students and parents and provide more information about how to get involved in activities at DeLaSalle.  At the same time, key personnel from various DeLaSalle departments — including business/tuition/financial aid, transportation, course schedules, Global Advantage, food service and more — will be available to answer questions from patents and students.

The School Store will be open from 8:15-8:55am and again from 10:30-11:45am if families wish to try on uniforms for size and/or place orders for fall.

For more information about the Enrollment Orientation program, please contact either Patrick Felicetta or Mike O’Keefe.

At 12:30pm, and in conjunction with the many Earth Day service opportunities across the Twin Cities, we sponsor our 11th annual Spring Island Clean-Up Day.  The event is co-sponsored by the Parent Association and the student GREEN team.  We invite all De parents-staff-students-friends to provide service to our neighborhood by working to clean up the Island. We will work in groups, so there’s the added bonus of meeting some new friends along the way.

Attendees are encouraged to bring a rake and gloves, if you have them. Help us rake, bag and hunt for “treasures.”  We will also have a few gardening projects. Join us after your hard work for a free cook-out, hosted by the Parent Association. Last spring, approximately 50 volunteers collected 45 bags of trash from the perimeter of Nicollet Island and the DeLaSalle campus.

No sign-ups are necessary.  Please join us in front of school at 12:30, and we will send you on your way!  For more information, please contact GREEN Team moderator, Tim Lynch.
