You are invited to join us for prayer in the Upper Room school chapel today at 7:45am. The chapel is located on the second floor of Christian Brothers’ Hall and you can access it from the Lasallian Ministry office.

Reminder that there are 3 summer Theology institutes being offered on college campuses this summer. These are opportunities to earn up to 30 Christian Service Hours. Recruiters from the programs will be here during lunches in the coming weeks. Please watch The Source for more information. All of the programs have different costs but there are scholarships available if you are interested and the cost is prohibitive. Information and brochures can also be found in the Campus Ministry office.

Also, there are two service immersion trips being offered by DeLaSalle

The meeting scheduled for today for first-year Starry Night Prom volunteers has been canceled and will be rescheduled. Please check The Source for an update about the new meeting time. Please let Ms. Hodapp know if you have any questions.

We will hold a Pepfest this afternoon to recognize our spring sports athletes. We will gather in the Main Gym after 8th hour. Get ready to show your school spirit and let us hear your battle cry!

Has your increasingly independent child changed just a little this year? How about the new challenges your child faces: Potential job? A driver’s license? Social media, social life and social decisions? Join other parents at the Parent Association meeting on Monday, April 10 at 6:30pm in D104 for “Parent Know and Tell”, where discussion will center on practical and effective parenting of the adolescent children we love. In other words, what you already KNOW about your child and his or her experiences… and what you could TELL other parents about this unique age.

The Parent Association will also highlight upcoming activities on their calendar: Island Clean-Up on April 22, Staff Appreciation Day on April 27, and the New Parent Meet-and-Greet on May 13.

As always, light refreshments will be served at Monday’s meeting and there will be a report from a school administrator. All De parents are welcome to join us!

We are in need of student volunteers for the 2nd annual Founder’s Day 5K the morning of Saturday, April 29. Student volunteers will help with:

  • Kids Fun Run
  • Face Painting (w/ Ms. Kiya)
  • Giving out Refreshments
  • Set-up
  • Breakdown
  • Bounce House Monitor
  • Handing out Ice Cream for Beat the Principal
  • Water Stations
  • Packet Prep 4/26 – After school 2:45pm – 4:30pm
  • Volunteer Check-in
  • Run Registration help
  • Helping direct traffic to finisher events

You will be eligible for Christian Service Hours for helping at this event. If you are interested, please e-mail Ms. Luckett by Friday, April 21.

Our last mentor meeting of the year is scheduled after 1st period tomorrow. Please meet with your mentor in your assigned location. As always, please bring class materials to work on while you are not meeting with your mentor.

The GREEN Team will sponsor an out of uniform day on Wednesday. Wristbands will be sold for $1 during lunches today and tomorrow and for $2 on Wednesday.

Come cheer on the Islander varsity baseball team when they face Academy of Holy Angels on Wednesday at 7:30pm at US Bank Stadium. Tickets are $5 at the door (children 2 and under are free). Fans must enter the Lower Pentair gate (off 6th St. S) and fans will sit in sections 126-130. Go Islanders!

This Thursday is Holy Thursday. And we will gather as a school community for a Lenten prayer between first and second period as we prepare to celebrate the death and Resurrection of Jesus.

Tickets are now on sale for the Junior-Senior Prom on Saturday, April 29 at the Nicollet Island Pavilion. Tickets are $65 if you buy them before April 17 or $75 after that date. Click here to buy your tickets online or you can buy them in the Business Office. De students may bring a non-DLS guest, but must complete this dance guest registration form.

Students with special dietary needs may email Ms. Brinson or stop by to see her in the Student Activities office before Friday, April 21.

Students are invited to take advantage of a fantastic opportunity to get some face time with an admissions representatives who may be reviewing your college application in the future. Start building these relationships now and it will benefit you in the future! Attend a college fair at Benilde-St. Margaret’s on Tuesday, April 25 from 7:00-8:30pm.

Click here to sign up for a free bus to and from the event. A bus will leave DLS at 6:30pm sharp and return to De at the end of the fair, 8:30pm.

You may also drive to the fair on your own. Parents and caretakers are welcome to go with you, they can even ride the bus with us. Check in at the table with Ms. Carter and Ms. McAdams when you arrive.
