The following courses will be offered:
- 3D Modeling and Advanced Python Programming
M, T, W, Th, 9:00am-12:00pm (Maximum: 20 students)
Students will use TinkerCAD to develop models for the 3D printer. Advanced Python Programming will include building video games by writing code. Students should have a strong math and science background. Coding experience, such as Intro to Python, preferred but not required. (Instructor: Adam Wolfe) - Art in the City
T, W, Th, 10:00am-2:00pm (Maximum: 25 students)
Students will be able to appreciate, tour and create art in the city by visiting museums, churches, murals and other structures, and by observing outdoor surroundings. With sketchbooks in hand, we will journey through the city, navigating on foot and using public transportation. There will be opportunities to critique the art we see and bring back ideas to create our own art in the city back in the classroom. (Instructors: Megan Longman, Christi Swords) - Filmmaking
T, W, Th, 1:00-5:00pm (Maximum: 15 students)
This is a hands on course that gets students involved in the filmmaking process. Students learn film techniques, collaborate on production and produce their own films. They will be taught the nomenclature of the types of camera shots, directing actors, and editing film through a combination of lessons, film screenings, creative and technical workshops. This course encourages collaboration, experimentation, critical and independent thinking. (Instructor: James Buffington)
Any DeLaSalle student is invited to participate on the committee that organizes Starry Night Prom by attending the mandatory meetings. The event is a prom for people in the greater community living with disabilities and will be held here at DeLaSalle on Saturday, May 6. Please sign up here to participate and mark your calendars for the first training session during lunches today in the LL Gray Gym. Lunch will be provided in order to maximize our time with the speaker so, please come directly to the gym at the BEGINNING of your lunch period.
