Prayer in the Upper Room – All are welcome to come for brief prayer services on Mondays through May 15 in the Chapel from 7:45-8:00am, starting again today.

Please join us in welcoming two visitors to DeLaSalle this week. Brother Michael Kadow from the Midwest District of Christian Brothers visits tomorrow. And, on Wednesday, Sister Joseph Andrew will be on campus. Brother and Sister will likely visit Theology classes, among other stops they plan to make. Please show them our warm Islander spirit if you see them and help them feel welcome in our community.

The three digital TV screens across from D104 went live over spring break. Our goal is to eventually feature major De activities and athletic accomplishments on these screens. Until that content is ready, the interactive touch technology has been disabled and students should not tamper or play around with any of the hardware on these or any of the on campus monitors. Thank you for your cooperation.

The next driver’s education class at DeLaSalle will be taught in June by Ray Kroll ’60. The classes are from 9:00am-12:20pm June 5-9 and 12-16. There is a mandatory parent meeting June 5 at 1:00pm. Click here for a registration form. You may return it to the Administration Office. Applications are due by May 1, though spots may be filled sooner, so don’t delay! Classroom instruction costs $110 and behind-the-wheel instruction costs $330; students who register for both the class and behind-the-wheel instruction will pay $399.

Student Council will be selling wristbands for Thursday’s out of uniform day. Wristbands will be sold for $1 during lunches tomorrow and Wednesday and for $2 before school on Thursday.

Tickets are now on sale for the Junior-Senior Prom on Saturday, April 29 at the Nicollet Island Pavilion. Tickets are $65 if you buy them before April 17 or $75 after that date. Click here to buy your tickets online or you can buy them in the Business Office. De students may bring a non-DLS guest, but must complete this dance guest registration form.

Students with special dietary needs may email Ms. Brinson or stop by to see her in the Student Activities office before Friday, April 21.

MARK YOUR CALENDAR!

Any DeLaSalle student is invited to participate on the committee that organizes Starry Night Prom by attending the mandatory meetings. The event is a prom for people in the greater community living with disabilities and will be held here at DeLaSalle on Saturday, May 6. Please sign up here to participate and mark your calendars for the first training session during lunches tomorrow in the LL Gray Gym. Lunch will be provided in order to maximize our time with the speaker so, please come directly to the gym at the BEGINNING of your lunch period.

Any student who would like to be recognized at Founder’s Day for a Giving Tree Award, please complete the form found in the Campus Ministry office or online here and return it to Campus Ministry by Thursday, April 13. Are you interested in learning a survival skill that was started 40,000 years ago? Do you want to be able to feed yourself if you ever get lost in the wilderness? If so, we have just the activity for you! DeLaSalle Atlatl Society will be starting its 4th season, with the first meeting tomorrow in Mr. Sczepanski’s room, B302, at 3:10pm. Atlatl Society meets Tuesdays and Thursdays after school from 3:10 to 4:10pm. Please see Mr. Sczepanski if you have any questions.

Lasallian Ministry welcomes guest speakers for our Thursday morning meeting from 7:45-8:20am in D117.

Game Day is still happening in the Lasallian Ministry office on Thursdays during lunches.  Stop over any time during your lunch period Thursday to play a board game or cards.  All are welcome.

Coach CJ is looking for a few students who would be in 10th, 11th, or 12th grade next school year to help with statistics this coming football season. You will get gear and a letter at the end of the year. Also you can be a part of the football team in a special way. If you are interested, please email Coach CJ or stop by the Lasallian Ministry office.

Leaf it to spring. Improve your health while helping a senior citizen remain independent in their home! Earn Christian Service hours as you rake and clean up the yard on a date and time that you choose. You can do this once or multiple times on weekdays or weekends. Contact Jeanne Rasmussen, the HOME Program Volunteer Coordinator, at 952-767-7894 for more information.
