  • Author Jonathan Friesen is our keynote for the week and will be speaking tomorrow morning in our assembly after 1st hour. He will also have copies of all of his books that will be sold during lunch periods on Thursday for $10 (cash or check made payable to DeLaSalle) Click here for a list of his books.
  • 10th and 11th graders will participate in Accessible Arts Classroom Activities today.
  • Don’t forget to sign up to see the movie Hidden Figures after school at St. Anthony Main on Thursday. We’ll leave at 3:15, go see the movie, and then come back to De for pizza and discussion. The cost is $8 ($6 for the movie ticket and $2 for the pizza).
  • Our collection for the Walk for a Cure for Juvenile Arthritis is happening through Friday in your first period classes.  Everyone who donates at least one dollar will have their name posted on a ribbon and be eligible for some prizes during lunches on Friday.

Student Council is having an Out of Uniform day today. We will be selling wristbands before school for $2. Remember, you must follow the Out of Uniform guidelines spelled out in the Student-Parent Handbook.

Beginning this week, the boys’ and girls’ locker rooms will be switching to new hours. The locker rooms will remain open to students from 5:20-8:25am and from 3:00-4:00pm. Please plan accordingly when using the athletic locker room. If you need to enter the locker room outside of the hours listed please see Mr. Lemon, Ms. Gillund or your coach for access.

Students interested in trying out for a spring sport are encouraged to sign up via an e-mail they have received from the Student Activities office. The deadline for students to register is today. As a reminder, students must have a Minnesota State High School League (MSHSL) Eligibility form and a current physical (within the last three years) on file with the Student Activities office.

This week, in Youth Leaders In Diversity, we will have a panel of Muslim students from the Muslim Student Association at MCTC. They will talk about Islamophobia and what it means to be Muslim from their perspective. All demographics and opinions are welcome. Explore unique perspectives. YLD meets today from 3:20-5:00pm in B215.

Come to Game Day tomorrow during lunches in Lasallian Ministry! Lasallian Ministry DOES NOT meet this week due to Social Justice Week.

We will meet tomorrow to take on the Forbidden Island! In this cooperative game, players work together to beat the game rather than trying to defeat the other players. Watch Wil Wheaton’s TableTop episode for Forbidden Island for a quick rules intro. New players are always welcome. See Mr. Newman for more information.

Students, please note these reminders about appropriate iPad use:

  • Gaming at any time during a school day is prohibited.
  • Switching iPads with other students for any reason is prohibited.
  • Photos and videos should only be taken to enhance your learning. You should ask permission from the teachers when taking photos of notes on the board or homework assignments such as worksheets or Quias.

Any violation will result in school consequences such as restrictions on iPads and detention.

Please be aware of these reminders as we continue random iPad checks throughout the next several weeks of school.
