Let us remember that we are in the holy presence of God.

O God, make us willing to do your will, come what may. Increase the number of persons of good will and moral sensitivity. Give us renewed confidence in nonviolence and the way of love as taught by Christ. Amen.

In today’s news…

Today, we will gather for an all school prayer service honoring the life of the Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.  The prayer will be held between first and second hour in the Florance Center.

There is no school Monday as we observe the Martin Luther King, Jr. federal holiday. Enjoy your 3-day weekend.

DeLaSalle and 301 on Main have reached an agreement that will allow students to park in the event center’s parking lot during school days. The parking lot is located at 301 NE Main Street. Students must purchase a parking permit in order to park in the lot. Permits cost $110 and will be sold starting today during lunches in the Business Office. Permits are effective starting Tuesday.

These supplemental permits are specifically numbered and assigned to the buyer and are for the parking lot at 301 on Main ONLY. These permits are NOT valid in any of the DeLaSalle parking areas during the school day. Students MUST remove their vehicle from the 301 on Main parking lot by 5:00pm each day or risk being towed by building management.

DeLaSalle will provide shuttle bus service each day between the 301 on Main parking lot and the school, starting Tuesday. The morning shuttle will leave the parking lot at approximately 8:15am. The afternoon shuttle will leave from the front of DeLaSalle at 3:15pm.

DeLaSalle hosts its second Open House for Prospective Students on Wednesday at 7:00pm. So that we can clean our school for our visitors, we ask that you leave school immediately after the last bell at 3:00pm. Thank you for your cooperation.

Today is the deadline to apply for a summer Global Advantage Program student exchange. Students, please update your iPad to the newest iOS 10.2. Before you update your device, make sure your files are backed up to your iCloud, especially in Pages, Numbers, Keynote, and GoodReader. Updating can be done by going to Settings < Software Update. You may not update at school; updates must be performed at home.

A reminder that DeLaSalle recommends keeping at least 3GB of free space on your device at all times to insure proper usage. If you experience issues with apps closing or your device being slow, this is due to your device running out of space. Best practice is to delete large apps if you do not use them such as Garage Band or iMovie. If you delete one of them, but need them later in the semester, go to the Meraki app and download them from there. If you use them then you must delete personal apps before deleting any school apps

Do you have a teacher who has inspired you and who you think should be recognized? Barnes & Noble is currently accepting nominations for these teachers. Students write an essay, poem, or thank you letter describing their favorite teacher and how that person has influenced and inspired them. Click here for an entry form. Judges will choose the winning teacher and recognize both the teacher and the student at a special ceremony at our store during spring Educator Appreciation Days. Ms. Bryson-Tucker will collect entries until February 22 and then submit them.
