All college visits take place in the Guidance office B102), unless otherwise noted. In order to meet with a college rep, you must register for the visit through your Naviance account and notify your teacher at least one day before the visit. You may show your teacher your iPad with the registration on Naviance as your pass. Remember, you are responsible for any work you miss during your visit with the college rep.

Students may dress out of uniform on Wednesday, but you must purchase a wristband. Wristbands will be on sale during lunches tomorrow for $1 or for $2 before school Wednesday.

Want to start your week out well with a short 15 minute prayer?  All are welcome to come to the Chapel above the Lasallian Ministry office for “In the Upper Room” morning prayer on Monday, November 14 at 7:45am.

Please join us as DeLaSalle’s Parent Association meets again on Monday, November 14 at 6:30pm in D104. The theme is “Chemical Awareness and Healthy Teens,” featuring guest speakers, Leslie Stankard and Julie Young-Burns. This highly-informative presentation helps parents become mare aware about current trends in adolescent chemical use and health — and how to help young people make good decisions. As always, Association updates, refreshments and parent-to-parent social time are also on the agenda.

Around Christmas, for the past 24 years, DeLaSalle has spiritually adopted several families through Sponsor a Family Minnesota and the Aliveness Project.  These families have benefited greatly from our generous spirit. Last year the students and staff brought in around $4,000.  Several teachers have graciously agreed to be the money collection point for each grade level.  Donate money in 9th and 10th grade Theology Classes or 11th and 12th grade English Classes.  Money collection is daily and runs through Thursday, December 1.   Thank you in advance for your generosity.

Practices officially begin today for girls’ basketball. Tryouts for 9th grade players are today and tomorrow from 3:30-5:30pm in the Main Gym. Tryouts for JV and varsity are today and tomorrow from 5:30-7:30pm in the Main Gym. Contact Tanysha Scott with questions.

Speech Team meeting today at 3:15pm in A211 for  ALL new and returning members. Please, bring your iPads.

Chess Club begins tomorrow! The meeting time is 3:15-4:30pm in Room A208. All ability levels are welcome. Please join us whether you are a pro or a novice at chess. If you have any questions, please contact Ms. Kocourek.

Lasallian Ministry meets Thursday from 7:30-8:20am in D117.  The topic for this meeting is respecting life in all stages and will include information on the Northside Life Care Center and Catholic Eldercare.  Opportunities for volunteering will be shared as well.

DeLaSalle Theatre invites all students interested in our winter productions to come to the Winter Musical and Winter Plays Information Meeting. We’ll be going over the productions and all the areas you can get involved. All interests welcome – on stage, back stage, costumes, lights, sound – we encourage you to come and learn about how you can get involved. The meeting is Thursday from 3:15-4:00pm in D117. Questions? Do you enjoy running?  Or are you trying to stay in shape between fall and spring sports?  Looking for people to run with?  Join the Polar Bear Running Club and run with a group once a week throughout the winter.  Meet at Founders Park on Thursday, November 17 at 3:20pm for our first run.  We should be done between 4:30-5pm.  Dress to ready to run – be sure to wear warm clothes!  All are welcome.  Contact Ms. Arens for more information.

All ninth grade students: On Friday, November 18 you will be gathering for your first class retreat. This is a full day event where you have the opportunity to meet with your classmates, build class unity and share. Here are some details regarding your retreat:

  • Attendance is mandatory. If you miss a retreat day, you are required to make up your absence through the guidance of Lasallian Ministry
  • Students must be in uniform on retreat day.
  • Bring a bag lunch, juice or water will be provided.
  • Leave all books, bags, headphones, cell phones, iPads, etc. at home or school. These items are not allowed on retreat.
  • The retreat will run during the school day only. You will check in to first hour for attendance and announcements and will move to the Albers Atrium to board buses which will bring you to the retreat site.
  • Please come with an open and positive attitude and you will have fun.
  • Any questions or concerns should be directed to Ms. Hodapp in the Lasallian Ministry office during your lunch period.

Seniors selected for the 9th grade retreat team: don’t forget that we meet at St. Mary’s University Center this Friday at 7:45am. Complete your request for absence form and pick up a T-Shirt in Lasallian Ministry if you need one. Those who missed the original training day, there is a make up training during lunches on Tuesday that you must attend.

Join us for the next NET Lifeline Mass and concert on Saturday, December 3 at the NET Center in West St. Paul. A thousand students from across the Twin Cities who are looking for a Mass with GREAT music and a message that is geared to them will be there. The Mass concert will be done about 9:00pm; we will go out for pizza afterwards. You can get a ride from DeLaSalle, which leaves at 4:30pm, or from St. Mark’s Catholic Church parking lot in St. Paul at 4:50pm.

This event is sold out! We have a limited number of tickets, so you must sign up here to let us know you are coming. Next, print off this permission slip and return it with the fee for the concert to Mrs. Kocourek or Mrs. Wojda by Monday, November 28.
