All college visits take place in the Guidance office B102), unless otherwise noted. In order to meet with a college rep, you must register for the visit through your Naviance account and notify your teacher at least one day before the visit. You may show your teacher your iPad with the registration on Naviance as your pass. Remember, you are responsible for any work you miss during your visit with the college rep.

All activity lockers need to be cleaned out no later than this morning. Clean out your locker, and lock your locker with the lock provided for you. Failure to do so properly may result in loss of locker room privileges. If you do not clean out your locker by Nov. 9, your belongings will be removed and donated.

Around Christmas, for the past 24 years, DeLaSalle has spiritually adopted several families through Sponsor a Family Minnesota and the Aliveness Project.  These families have benefited greatly from our generous spirit. Last year the students and staff brought in around $4,000.  Several teachers have graciously agreed to be the money collection point for each grade level.  Donate money in 9th and 10th grade Theology Classes or 11th and 12th grade English Classes.  Money collection is daily and begins today and runs through Thursday, December 1.   Thank you in advance for your generosity.

Anyone would like to go Christmas shopping for our adoptive families, please sign up in the Lasallian Ministry office or e-mail Ms. Ortiz.  We will shop after school on Friday, December 2 from 3:15-5:00pm. Christian Service hours WILL NOT be awarded for this event.

Once a student arrives on campus, he/she may not leave the school building except with permission or for an event such as a scheduled school activity. Loitering in the gyms, locker rooms, school parking lot, fields, Founder’s Park, or on Nicollet Island is not allowed.  A student who exhibits uncooperative behavior before or after school loses the privilege of remaining on school grounds before or after school and parent(s) will be contacted. In severe cases, the student may also lose the privilege of participating in after-school activities.

To ensure a positive and uniform appearance of all DeLaSalle students, items of apparel must be in accordance with the guidelines provided in the Student-Parent handbook and are subject to administrative approval.

• T-shirts worn under uniform shirts must be solid white, black, gray, or gold. They must be free from any graphics or lettering and may not hang out from outer garment at hemline or sleeve
• Students may not wear a long-sleeved shirt under a short-sleeved uniform shirt.
• For warmth, students may only wear a uniform sweater or uniform sweatshirt.
• Hats, scarves and other head coverings are not permitted during the school day

DeLaSalle Theatre presents “Great Expectations” an original adaptation of Dickens’ classic novel created for the Florance Center stage. Great Expectations is the story of Pip, an orphan who rises to wealth, deserts his true friends, and becomes humbled by his own arrogance. Performances are this Friday and Saturday and again November 18 and 19, all at 7:30pm. The show is free for De students with school ID. You may also purchase tickets here.

Lasallian Ministry meets this Thursday from 7:30-8:20am in D117. Our topic of discussion this week is on equity in schools.  All are welcome. Don’t forget you get a raffle ticket for every time you participate in a Lasallian Ministry sponsored event and a drawing will be held at our Christmas Party in December.

The Lord of the Rings Book Club meets this Friday in B211 from 3:10-4:00pm. Read Two Towers, Book 1, Chapters 4-6 for this meeting. (Even if you didn’t get a chance to read, come anyway! We will catch you up!) Join us for a great discussion about life’s most important questions, a cuppa tea, and great food!

Are you interested in Speech but were unable to attend the auditions last week? No problem! We will be having another day of auditions this Friday in room A211. Stop by A211 to sign up for a time slot or email coach Schumacher.

There will be a signing ceremony Friday at 3:30pm in D104 for three DeLaSalle seniors, who will sign National Letters of Intent to play collegiate sports. Please join us in celebrating Maddie Duffy, Goanar Mar, and Paris Smith, with refreshments to follow.

Want to start your week out well with a short 15 minute prayer?  All are welcome to come to the Chapel above the Lasallian Ministry office for “In the Upper Room” morning prayer on Monday, November 14 at 7:45am.

Join us for the next NET Lifeline Mass and concert on Saturday, December 3 at the NET Center in West St. Paul. A thousand students from across the Twin Cities who are looking for a Mass with GREAT music and a message that is geared to them will be there. The Mass concert will be done about 9:00pm; we will go out for pizza afterwards. You can get a ride from DeLaSalle, which leaves at 4:30pm, or from St. Mark’s Catholic Church parking lot in St. Paul at 4:50pm.

This event is sold out! We have a limited number of tickets, so you must sign up here to let us know you are coming. Next, print off this permission slip and return it with the fee for the concert to Mrs. Kocourek or Mrs. Wojda by Monday, November 28.

Please join us as DeLaSalle’s Parent Association meets again on Monday, November 14 at 6:30pm in D104. The theme is “Chemical Awareness and Healthy Teens,” featuring guest speakers, Leslie Stankard and Julie Young-Burns. This highly-informative presentation helps parents become mare aware about current trends in adolescent chemical use and health — and how to help young people make good decisions. As always, Association updates, refreshments and parent-to-parent social time are also on the agenda.

Lasallian Ministry has coordinated with the Household and Outside Maintenance for Elderly (HOME) program, a Christian Service opportunity. The HOME program allows for volunteers to come to homes of the elderly to rake leaves / sweep their yards. This event is scheduled for Saturday November 19, from 9am-12pm. Transportation will be provided from DeLaSalle to the homes that we are assigned. We have room to take up to 10 students. If you are interested and want more information please email Ms. Ortiz no later than November 15th.

The University of Minnesota Theater Department is once again offering  students interested in theater an opportunity to spend a day on the University of Minnesota campus to take workshops, see a show and meet our faculty.  The BA Theater Experience takes place on Saturday, November 12 from 1:00-10:00pm and includes a complimentary dinner, show and workshops. Interested students should email Luverne Siefert.
