All college visits take place in the Guidance office B102), unless otherwise noted. In order to meet with a college rep, you must register for the visit through your Naviance account and notify your teacher at least one day before the visit. You may show your teacher your iPad with the registration on Naviance as your pass. Remember, you are responsible for any work you miss during your visit with the college rep.

Student Council is now taking applications for 9th Grade Class Representatives! If you would like to apply, you may get an application in the Main Office or from Mr. Sczepanski. Completed applications must be submitted to Mr. Sczepanski by 4:00pm on Wednesday, October 5. Once a completed application has been submitted, students may begin putting up posters, which must be approved by Ms. Gillund or Mr.. Lemon. The 9th grade election will be held in 9th grade physical education/social studies classes on Friday, October 7.

Join thousands of students from the Twin Cities looking for a Mass with GREAT music and a message that is geared to them. It happens at the NET Lifeline Mass this Saturday. A bus will leave from the De parking lot at 4:40pm with a pick-up at the St. Mark’s Catholic Church parking lot at 5:00pm. After Mass, we will go out for pizza and should be done about 9:30pm. If you want to go, please sign up with this Google form. You must also fill out and return this permission slip.

Applications for free and reduced lunch benefits are due Monday for the 2016-17 school year. If a student has not applied for free or reduced lunch benefits by then, they must pay regular price for breakfast and lunch.

Today is the last day to sign up for National Art Honor Society (NAHS). Please turn in a signed contract with $3 to Ms. Megan in room B110.

DeLaSalle will provide transportation to the Minnesota National College Fair at the Minneapolis Convention Center on Tuesday morning for all 11th grade students. Juniors, please check in to your first hour class for attendance on Tuesday before going to your assigned bus. Juniors should be dressed in school uniform and bring their iPad and a jacket with them and be ready with lots of questions for admissions representatives.

Seniors may consider attending the fair Tuessday from 5:00-8:00pm to look at colleges and meet with admissions representatives.

Lasallian Ministry is offering a great way to start your week.  Join us most Monday mornings at 7:45am in the chapel for 15-minute prayers, starting this Monday, October 3. October is National Respect for Life Month so, this month our prayers will be focused on the theme of respecting life in all forms from womb to tomb.  School chaplain, Fr. Joe Kuharski, will offer Mass on Monday, October 10 and Monday, October 24, each at 7:45am in the chapel.

Attention 12th graders: Please remember that all 60 of your Christian Service hours must be documented no later than January 22, 2017.  This is less than four months away.  Now is the time to figure out your plan.  Stop by Lasallian Ministry to see Mr. Hallman for tips, forms and information about Christian Service.

Would you like to see your photos in the yearbook? Download the Balfour Image Share app and upload them directly to the yearbook software. The project number that you will need to create your account is 702817. This is a great way to contribute to a keepsake you will have forever.

Reminder to seniors and senior parents that senior ad orders are due by October 24. Please see the yearbook website for information on how to order yearbooks and senior ads.

Do you like to argue?  Do you like to think on your feet, or play a character role?  There are many roles and opportunities to “argue” and present a case in court in Mock Trial!  An organizational meeting will be held next Tuesday at 3:15pm in room D207 West.  Come ask questions, learn what Mock Trial is all about, and sign-up if you are interested.  Contact Ms. Hank if you have any questions.  See you there!

Our chaplain, Fr. Joe Kuharski, is planning to be at DeLaSalle most Mondays, starting Monday October 10. He will be in the Florance Center at the start of lunch and invite students to come to Lasallian Ministry for card games and free cookies.  Please come by to hang out with Fr. Joe.  There will be a different theme each week so watch The Source for details.

We have RESPECT LIFE MONTH in October of each yearm a time when we remember all forms and all ages of life that God has given us. At DeLaSalle, we focus on daily supplies for babies born to poor families. Every donation you bring in, whether big or small, will go to the Northside Total Life Care Center. There will be a crib set up starting on Monday in Albers Atrium where you can drop off your donations. Give a little … for the babies!

Diversity Week is coming up October 24-28.  Are you aware of any multicultural performance groups that may be willing to perform at our celebration event or do you perform?   If so, please see Ms. Hodapp in the Lasallian Ministry office soon.

The Midwest District of the Christian Brothers is sponsoring a video contest with $5,000 in prizes that would go toward our school. It needs to be designed and created by students only.  If you are interested in working on this project and would like more details, please email Ms. Hodapp for more information.

The Archdiocesan Youth Day is happening again this year on Saturday, October 29th from 1:30-9:00pm at Roy Wilkens Auditorium.  Archbishop Hebda will offer Mass and Fr. Agustino Torres will be the keynote speaker.  Everything is free, including food and swag.  If you are interested in participating, please e-mail Ms. Ortiz.
