Picture Retake Day will be held during lunches today in the LL Gray Gym. All students and staff who did not have their picture on the original picture day must have their picture taken for their school ID. ID’s will be printed from the Administration Office once the retake CD is prepared.and returned to the school. Retake pictures will only be taken for those who did not have a picture taken on the original picture day, those who are returning a complete packet in exchange for a retake packet, or those who are ordering an additional packet with a new picture. Please see Ms. Gillund or Ms. Villegas with any questions.

All 11th graders will gather today for class Mass at Our Lady of Lourdes. The school chaplain, Fr. Joe Kuharski, will celebrate the Mass. Juniors should put their belongings in their lockers after 1st hour and report to the Florance Center. The next class Mass is October 4 for seniors.

Earn Christian Service hours after school today as we are “Sort’n It Out on the Island!” Join the GREEN Team for DeLaSalle’s annual fall waste sort in the parking lot behind the school (between the football field and Christian Brothers’ Hall). We’ll sort from 3:15-5:00pm. Supplies are provided.

Applications for free and reduced lunch benefits are due Monday for the 2016-17 school year. If a student has not applied for free or reduced lunch benefits by then, they must pay regular price for breakfast and lunch.

Come cheer on the junior and senior ladies in their Powderpuff football game! The game will take place tomorrow at 7:00pm on the athletic field!

Attention 12th graders: Please remember that all 60 of your Christian Service hours must be documented no later than January 22, 2017.  This is less than four months away.  Now is the time to figure out your plan.  Stop by Lasallian Ministry to see Mr. Hallman for tips, forms and information about Christian Service.

Over the summer, Canvas and TurnItIn made some adjustments to their systems, and with that, the way in which students submit work via TurnItIn has changed. Click here for detailed instructions for submitting work through the browser. When using the Canvas mobile app, it’s important to follow the prompts on the screen for each assignment.

DeLaSalle welcomes Darmouth College for a presentation on application and attendance at the New Hampshire-based school. The citywide visit is Thursday from 7:00-9:00pm in D104. Students interested in applying to Dartmouth or any other highly selective college should attend this presentation to gain an understanding of what is needed to apply.

Lasallian Ministry will host its first “Game Day” of the semester this Thursday! Come over to the Lasallian Ministry office during your lunch to play some of your favorite games. Bring a friend, or two, or five, the more the merrier! Remember for every Lasallian Ministry event you attend this semester, you will get a raffle ticket to be entered in a drawing at our Christmas Party. We hope to see you there!

Interested in Quiz Bowl? Come to an informational meeting Thursday from 3:10-3:30pm in room B305. Practice begins the week of October 3. Any questions or concerns contact Mr. Marrin in B305.

Join thousands of students from the Twin Cities looking for a Mass with GREAT music and a message that is geared to them. It happens at the NET Lifeline Mass this Saturday. A bus will leave from the De parking lot at 4:40pm with a pick-up at the St. Mark’s Catholic Church parking lot at 5:00pm. After Mass, we will go out for pizza and should be done about 9:30pm. If you want to go, please sign up with this Google form. You must also fill out a permission slip to attend. Pick one up from Ms. Kocourek or Ms. Wojda.

Do you like to argue?  Do you like to think on your feet, or play a character role?  There are many roles and opportunities to “argue” and present a case in court in Mock Trial!  An organizational meeting will be held next Tuesday at 3:15pm in room D207 West.  Come ask questions, learn what Mock Trial is all about, and sign-up if you are interested.  Contact Ms. Hank if you have any questions.  See you there!

The Lord of the Rings Book Club starts up again later in October. If you are interested, please come to a SHORT info meeting after school on Friday, October 7 in Mrs. Wojda’s room, B211. We will choose which day of the week to meet, and discuss our reading plan. And of course, It wouldn’t be a LOTR book club meeting without food!

Diversity Week is coming up October 24-28.  Are you aware of any multicultural performance groups that may be willing to perform at our celebration event or do you perform?   If so, please see Ms. Hodapp in the Lasallian Ministry office soon.

The Midwest District of the Christian Brothers is sponsoring a video contest with $5,000 in prizes that would go toward our school. It needs to be designed and created by students only.  If you are interested in working on this project and would like more details, please email Ms. Hodapp for more information.
