Congratulations to three DeLaSalle seniors who have been recognized by the National Merit Scholarship Program for the 2016-2017 school year. Maddie Phelan has been named a National Merit Scholarship Semi-Finalist. Joey Dahl and Isabel Gese have been named National Merit Scholarship Commended Students.
All three students are recognized for outstanding performance in the 2015 Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test (PSAT). The three students earned test scores among the best of more than 1.5 million students in the country taking the PSAT in 2015. All of us at DeLaSalle can take pride that our school once again is among the leaders in Minnesota in producing National Merit scholars.
DeLaSalle congratulates all of these scholars, their parents, and their grade school teachers, for the considerable effort that led to such outstanding performance.
Since 2004, 100 DeLaSalle students have earned recognition as a National Merit Semi-finalist or Commended Student, or as a National Achievement Scholar – and then continued their education in college. Several of these scholars have attended some of the most competitive colleges in the country, including Boston College, Brown, Carleton, Chicago, Columbia, Cornell, Dartmouth, Duke, Georgetown, Georgia Tech, Hampshire, Johns Hopkins, Macalester, Notre Dame, Northwestern, Rice, Stanford, Southern California, Swarthmore, Vassar, Vanderbilt, Washington University, Wellesley, Whitman, and Yale, to name but a few.
