We will gather in the Florance Center after first period to celebrate our annual Founder’s Day Mass.   Founder’s Day is an event dedicated to recognizing the founder of the Christian Brothers and namesake of our school, St. John Baptist de La Salle. Our celebrant for Mass will be our chaplain, Fr. Joe Kuharski. We will take time to honor our Alumni Scholarship and Giving Tree Award recipients as well as two staff members with the Distinguished Lasallian Educator Award and the Liemandt Excellence in Teaching Award.

Please note the change in class schedule today. We will go periods 1, Mass, 2, 4, 5, 6, 3, 7, 8. Thank you.

We’ll gather after 8th hour on Friday for our last Pepfest of the school year. The Pepfest will recognize spring sports. Let us hear your battle cry as you compete for the spirit stick!

Remember, there is a mandatory meeting TOMORROW in A219 (formerly the Casanova room) during all lunches.  Lunch will be provided in order to maximize our time with the speaker so, please come directly to the meeting room at the BEGINNING of your lunch period.

DeLaSalle will celebrate National College Decision Day on Friday, April 29.Seniors may be out of uniform that day as long as they wear a t-shirt or sweatshirt that represents their future plans after DeLaSalle. Jeans are also acceptable. During lunches on that day, seniors are welcome to sign a board with their name and which school they are attending and get a treat. We will also announce scholarships that students have earned.

Learn About Harvard, Princeton, and Stanford at an Ivy League presentation this Thursday from 4:30-6:30pm. The presentation will be held at the North branch public library (1834 Emerson Avenue) in North Minneapolis. Please RSVP to Linda Johnson. Click here to learn more.

The 2016 Senior Art Show will feature the photographs, drawings, and paintings of students Zoe Doane, Paula Furjan, Henry Johnson, Raymond Korte, Sarah Kroening, Daniel Kussow, Lance McNew, Marissa Mohammed, Jacob Ney, Louise Rossiter, Daniel Swords, and Chloe Zachary. The show is April 30-May 13 at the Sebastian Joe’s in Uptown (1007 W. Franklin Ave.). Stop by for some ice cream and check out the work of your classmates.

Applications are available now if you are interested in serving on Student Council next year. You may pick up a form in the Main Office. Applications are due by Friday, May 6 if you are running for Executive Board (President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Public Relations). Class representative applications are due by Friday, May 13.

Congratulations to sophomore Ben Anderson for winning the yearbook drawing. Please see Ms Beckman in the LTC to collect your $10 gift card.

Remember, anyone who has ordered a yearbook will be entered into a weekly drawing for a $10 gift card. Yearbooks are $57 until May 1st, only 40 are still available orders yours today to secure your copy. Order online or pick up an order form in the LTC.

Have you had a chance to play DeLaSalle’s very own grandmaster yet? If you haven’t, you better soon! Chess Club will be meeting again tomorrow until 4:00pm in A204.
