All college visits take place in the Guidance office, unless otherwise noted. In order to meet with a college rep, you must register for the visit through your Naviance account and notify your teacher at least one day before the visit. You may show your teacher your iPad with the registration on Naviance as your pass. Remember, you are responsible for any work you miss during your visit with the college rep.

Seniors, Mr. Benson wants to meet with you for a few minutes during your lunch period TODAY. You should report to the LL Gray Gym BEFORE you get lunch. You will have enough time to eat lunch after the meeting.

Applications are available now if you are interested in serving on Student Council next year. You may pick up a form in the Main Office. Applications are due by Friday, May 6 if you are running for Executive Board (President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Public Relations). Class representative applications are due by Friday, May 13.

We will gather in the Florance Center after first period tomorrow to celebrate our annual Founder’s Day Mass.   Founder’s Day is an event dedicated to recognizing the founder of the Christian Brothers and namesake of our school, St. John Baptist de La Salle. Our celebrant for Mass will be our chaplain, Fr. Joe Kuharski. We will take time to honor our Alumni Scholarship and Giving Tree Award recipients as well as two staff members with the Distinguished Lasallian Educator Award and the Liemandt Excellence in Teaching Award.

Today is the last day to vote for Prom King & Queen. If you are a junior or a senior, you should have received an email with a link to the Quia ballot. Please vote before the end of the school day. You may only vote for one senior man and woman to be King and Queen, respectively. If you vote for more than one person for each position, your vote will not count.

DeLaSalle will celebrate National College Decision Day on Friday, April 29.Seniors may be out of uniform that day as long as they wear a t-shirt or sweatshirt that represents their future plans after DeLaSalle. Jeans are also acceptable. During lunches on that day, seniors are welcome to sign a board with their name and which school they are attending and get a treat. We will also announce scholarships that students have earned.

The 2016 Senior Art Show will feature the photographs, drawings, and paintings of students Zoe Doane, Paula Furjan, Henry Johnson, Raymond Korte, Sarah Kroening, Daniel Kussow, Lance McNew, Marissa Mohammed, Jacob Ney, Louise Rossiter, Daniel Swords, and Chloe Zachary. The show is April 30-May 13 at the Sebastian Joe’s in Uptown (1007 W. Franklin Ave.). Stop by for some ice cream and check out the work of your classmates.

Congratulations to Math teacher, Mr. David Pearson, for earning the Minnesota Independent School Forum High School Honor Teacher of the Year! Mr. Pearson accepted the award Sunday at a ceremony at the University of St. Thomas. He beat out two other finalists for the top honor.

Students with a negative lunch account balance may not purchase food from the DeLaSalle Cafe. All students who have a negative balance, including those who receive free or reduced lunch benefits, will be offered a bag lunch with a cheese sandwich, fruit and milk.
