The Islander boys’ basketball team will play Fridley tomorrow in the quarterfinal of the state boys’ basketball tournament. The game is at 10:00am at Williams Arena.

There will be no school tomorrow; however, teachers will be available by appointment between 8:00-9:00am and 1:30-4:00pm.

Morning transportation routes will operate on a normal schedule tomorrow, meaning students may take the bus to school to board fan buses. Fan buses to tomorrow’s game will leave De starting at 9am and return from Williams Arena after the game. Afternoon transportation routes will leave from DeLaSalle at 12:40pm for students who need a ride home after the game.

You may pre-buy tickets for tomorrow’s game today in Albers Atrium. Tickets cost $14 for adults and $9 for students.

If the Islanders win tomorrow, there would be no school on Thursday. Thursday’s semifinal game is at 12:00pm at the Target Center. Although there would be no school Thursday, morning transportation routes will run 2 hours later than normal for those students who need a ride to school to board fan buses. Afternoon transportation routes on Thursday will leave DeLaSalle as normal, at 3:10pm.

The professional development originally planned as part of a late start on Tuesday, March 15 would instead be held on Thursday, March 10 – and March 15 would become a full day of classes.

Good luck to the Islander girls’ basketball team, which will play against Como Park on Thursday at 7pm in the section championship for the chance to go to state. The game is at St. Paul Washington Technology Magnet. There will be a fan bus to the game, but you must sign up here by the end of the day on Wednesday. The fan bus will leave from the front of DeLaSalle on Thursday at 6:00pm and return to De immediately after the game.

Fr. Joe Kuharski will be back on campus in the chapel to hear confessions again on Monday, March 14 during all lunch periods.  If you did not have an opportunity to go to confession last week and would like to come, please plan to stop over to Lasallian Ministry during your lunch.

Just a reminder the Fit Club will meet Monday mornings at 7:30am or Tuesday afternoon’s at 3:15pm in A219 (Mr. Christianson’s classroom). All are welcome. Questions see Mr. Christianson or Miss Barry

We will start working with 9th graders today and tomorrow from 3:05pm – 5:30pm in the LL Gray Gym. Bring your tennis shoes, gloves, and bat, if you have one. Any questions? See Mr. Heinecke in the LTC prior to Monday.

Senior art students who have taken at least two semesters of visual art are eligible to participate in an art show in May. Each student may submit one, framed piece to include in the gallery at Sebastian Joes. Anyone who interested in participating in DeLaSalle’s 2nd Annual Senior Art Show should stop by Ms. Lundstrum’s office in the LTC and pick up an official form. Forms are due on March 23rd.

DeLaSalle students are invited to travel to Chicago April 8-10 for a weekend retreat focused on Social Justice and advocacy at the Br. David Darst Center. If you are interested in participating, please indicate your interest by complete this on-line form. Christian Service Hours are awarded.

Preseason Captains Practice for Track and Field are Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 3:20-4:30pm. Meet in Mr. Pearson’s room (A202). Everyone is welcome to run! The regular season starts March 14.

A non-profit wants to help junior and senior girls with difficult family or financial circumstances attend Prom by giving them a gown or dress and accessories at no charge. To be eligible, you must be in a financial or family situation such that you would not be able to go to prom unless you received a dress from Operation Glass Slipper. You must get a referral from an adult outside of your family (e.g. a teacher, counselor, clergy member, etc.). Referral forms are available in the DeLaSalle counseling office.
