Let us remember that we are in the holy presence of God.

Honor the sacred.
Honor the Earth, our Mother.
Honor the Elders.
Honor all with whom we
share the Earth:-
Four-leggeds, two-leggeds,
winged ones,
Swimmers, crawlers,
plant and rock people.
Walk in balance and beauty.
(Native American Elder)

Saint John Baptist de La Salle…pray for us. Live Jesus in our hearts…forever!

Social Justice Awareness Week is underway. Our focus for the week is on Catholic Social Teachings as they relate to the needs of the elderly.

Tomorrow, we gather after 1st period for an all school assembly to hear Dr. Mahmoud El-Kati, African American Elder, lecturer, writer and commentator.

Please check out the signs around the building for more information and get involved.

We will be selling Dr. Kent Nerburn’s books through next Monday. If you wish to purchase a book, please see or e-mail Ms. Hodapp in Lasallian Ministry. 10th grade students will be required to purchase and read Neither Wolf Nor Dog over the summer so, now would be a good time to do so…the value of a book increases with the author’s signature.

Click here for a list of Dr. Nerburn’s books.

DeLaSalle Theatre presents “The Addams Family” musical, which opens Friday night in the Florance Center. Performances are this Friday and Saturday and next Thursday, Friday, and Saturday – all at 7:30pm. Come cheer on your fellow Islanders as the Final Four battle it out for the title of “DeLaSalle Grandmaster!” While you are there, why not stop by and play a few games of chess too? Chess Club meets again today until 5:00pm in A204. Players of all skill levels are welcome, and if you just have to time to stop by and play one quick game, that’s fine.

Chess Club members should report to the Main Gym right after 8th period for a group yearbook picture.

See Ms. Kocourek or Anders Jenson with any questions.

Islanders are invited to submit prayer requests in prayer boxes located in the Main Office or Lasallian Ministry office. De Parents in Prayer, sponsored by the Parent Association, will gather to lift up these prayer requests tomorrow at 1:45pm in the Florance Center. Prayer requests may remain anonymous.

Classes on Monday will start at 10:30am, two hours later than normal, as staff participate in professional development. Morning transportation routes on Monday will also run two hours later than normal.
