All college visits take place in the Guidance office, unless otherwise noted. In order to meet with a college rep, you must register for the visit through your Naviance account and notify your teacher at least one day before the visit. You may show your teacher your iPad with the registration on Naviance as your pass. Remember, you are responsible for any work you miss during your visit with the college rep.

Social Justice Awareness Week is underway. Our focus for the week is on Catholic Social Teachings as they relate to the needs of the elderly. We have many informative and thought provoking activities in store for the DeLaSalle Community this week. Please check out the signs around the building for more information and get involved.

Section playoffs are underway. Tonight, the boys’ varsity basketball team plays Blake. Remember, everyone must pay. Tickets cost $7 for adults and $5 for students and senior citizens.

Learn more about a Global Advantage trip this summer to Germany and the Czech Republic at an informational meeting tomorrow during lunches and after school. The location for the lunch meetings is to be determined. The after school meeting will take place in B305.

Parents are invited to join the college advising team today at 8:15am for an informal parent forum titled “Shepherding your Students’ Scholarship Search”.  You are invited to join us for coffee, croissants, and this vital information from 8:15-9:15am in the Guidance office, B104. All are welcome!  If you are cannot attend on Wednesday, we will host an encore presentation on March 22 from 6:45-7:45pm

Tomorrow, you have an opportunity to have lunch with Mr. R. Jean Gray, former FBI Special Agent.  Please come to the Rothweiler Room (through the archway in Christian Brothers’ Hall) with your lunch to hear his fascinating stories of his time around the world working for the FBI, in particular, he will talk about his search for James Earl Ray, Dr. King’s assassin.

Lasallian Ministry meets this Thursday at 7:30am in A219 (formerly the Robert Casanova Room). We will participate in a simulation game examining resources available to the elderly.

Come cheer on your fellow Islanders as the Final Four battle it out for the title of “DeLaSalle Grandmaster!” While you are there, why not stop by and play a few games of chess too? Chess Club meets again this Thursday until 5:00pm in A204. Players of all skill levels are welcome, and if you just have to time to stop by and play one quick game, that’s fine. See Ms. Kocourek or Anders Jenson with any questions.

Islanders are invited to submit prayer requests in prayer boxes located in the Main Office or Lasallian Ministry office. De Parents in Prayer, sponsored by the Parent Association, will gather to lift up these prayer requests on Friday at 1:45pm in the Florance Center. Prayer requests may remain anonymous.

The Alpine Ski Club will go skiing at Hyland Park in Bloomington after school on Friday, March 4. Want to ski with us? Sign up here. Remember, you must fill out a liability waiver form if they have not already; visit the Student Activities office for a form. Ski club payments should be made payable to DeLaSalle High School.

Any Juniors or Seniors interested in helping with organizing this year’s Prom, please send an email to Ms. Weeks before Friday. A email will then be sent by Ms. Weeks to confirm your participation and to discuss our first meeting and next steps. See. Ms. Weeks with any questions.

The DeLaSalle Alumni Legacy/Farrell Scholarship is offered tojunior students who will receive the scholarship for their senior year at DeLaSalle. Applicants complete an application and are evaluated on their academics, extra-curricular activities, community, church and volunteer involvement. In addition, all applicants must have at least one relative who has graduated from DeLaSalle. Students must apply by Friday, March 11. Click here to apply. It’s time for the Islander Cheer Clinic! If you have younger siblings or friends who have energy and spirit, this will be an awesome day! The cheer camp includes traditional sideline cheerleading skills, as well as the major components of competition cheer: stunts and lifts, tumbling, and dance. A great camp for all kids – from beginners to experienced cheerleaders. We will put together a mini routine and end the day with a family and friends performance!
