Let us remember that we are in the holy presence of God.

God, we thank You for the gift of Catholic schools, where the message of Your life, death, and resurrection is proclaimed; Christian community is experienced; Service to our brothers and sisters is modeled; And worship of You is cultivated. Amen

Saint John Baptist de La Salle…pray for us. Live Jesus in our hearts…forever!

The votes have been tallied, the Sadie Hawkins dance decorations are winter-themed this year. The dance dress code is casual, ladies choice. Come down to the winter wonderland to dance, take pictures and play games. Tomorrow from 7:00-10:30pm in the Florance Center. The cost is $6 (or $5 if you also bring a canned good).

You must bring your student ID, as you will not be admitted to the dance without it!. If you have lost your ID, you can get a replacement for $3 in the administration office. The administration office is on the 2nd floor between the A and B buildings.

What does casual dress code mean? Click here to read about what is allowed in the Student-Parent Handbook.

If you choose to bring a guest to the dance, you must complete and return this Dance Guest Form by Friday.

Come play Scrabble on the first Friday of each month. Join us after school today in Ms. Sullivan’s room, A206. This is very informal and you can come when you can.

Want to help design an app?  The Technovation team is designing 2 apps, one on reducing stress in your life, you may have seen the survey, and another one on healthy eating.   We are looking for interested students in helping to build the apps and design the marketing materials/videos to promote the apps.   If you are interested come to B201 Monday after school and sign on to be a part of the team.  This week we are creating teams and looking at the potential market for each app.

The Powderpuff volleyball game that was scheduled for yesterday afternoon has been pushed back to Tuesday, Feb. 9 at 3:30pm in the Main Gym. Cheer on the boys as the Juniors face off against the Seniors for the craziest volleyball game of the year.

Parents: Don’t you wish you could sometimes compare notes and stories with other parents in your child’s grade – or gather some accumulated wisdom for parents who have already walked the path you’re on, been through all the ups and downs of parenting a high school student, just to know that you aren’t really the “only parent who acts that way?”

Join the Parent Association on Monday at 6:30pm in A219 for Parent “Know and Tell” – Shared Wisdom about the Adolescents We Know and Love. As always, light refreshments will be served and there will be a report from a school administrator. Contact the Parent Association co-chairs Jackie Schluter-Johnson or Luann Mishler.

The Global Advantage Program will lead a trip to Ecuador from June 12-24. An informational meeting will take place on Tuesday, February 9 at 3:15pm in Ms. Megan’s art room. It will be awesome.

Congratulations to Carter Steinhagen, who will ski in the state alpine ski tournament next Wednesday. Good luck Carter!

Eight student volunteers are needed to help serve the afternoon meal at Sharing & Caring Hands in downtown Minneapolis after school on Thursday. Please e-mail Miss Barry if you are interested.
