Thank you to all who have participated so far in our Catholic Schools Week and Winterfest activities. Today’s Out of Uniform is Sports Day: Wear your favorite team’s colors and display your team spirit. Jerseys, socks and shirts etc. are encouraged.

Tomorrow is the last out of uniform day for the week – and it is Islander Day. Bust out that Islander pride! Students may wear Islander and/or DeLasalle apparel: black/gold/yellow, and Hawaiian shirts.

Click here for full coverage, including all out of uniform days and activities.

The Catholic Schools Week liturgy will be held today. We will gather in the Florance Center after 1st hour. DeLaSalle parent and pastoral associate at Holy Rosary Church, Deb Organ, will share a reflection on the Year of Mercy. Please remember to leave all of your belongings in your 1st hour classroom and to go with your 1st hour class to the liturgy.

The Powderpuff volleyball game that was scheduled for yesterday afternoon has been pushed back to Tuesday, Feb. 9 at 3:30pm in the Main Gym. Cheer on the boys as the Juniors face off against the Seniors for the craziest volleyball game of the year.

Student Council, along with Memorial Blood Centers, will sponsor a Blood Drive tomorrow. Thank you to all who have signed up.

The votes have been tallied, the Sadie Hawkins dance decorations are winter-themed this year. The dance dress code is casual, ladies choice. Come down to the winter wonderland to dance, take pictures and play games. This Saturday from 7:00-10:30pm in the Florance Center. The cost is $6 (or $5 if you also bring a canned good).

You must bring your student ID, as you will not be admitted to the dance without it!. If you have lost your ID, you can get a replacement for $3 in the administration office. The administration office is on the 2nd floor between the A and B buildings.

What does casual dress code mean? Click here to read about what is allowed in the Student-Parent Handbook.

If you choose to bring a guest to the dance, you must complete and return this Dance Guest Form by Friday.

Congratulations to Carter Steinhagen, who will ski in the state alpine ski tournament next Wednesday. Good luck Carter!

Congratulations to two Islanders, who will sign National Letters of Intent tomorrow to play sports in college. The signings for Isaiah Hubbard and Marcos Luna will be at 7:45am in the Rothweiler Room.

Come celebrate Sports Day during Winterfest by playing the very best sport of all, chess! Chess Club will meet again after school today until 5:00pm in A204. Players of all skill levels are welcome, and if you just have to time to stop by and play one quick game that’s fine. See Ms. Kocourek or Anders Jenson with any questions

The Tabletop Games Club will meet today in B307.  Our game for the week is Formula D, in honor of Sports Day.  If you are not going Alpine skiing, come race with us.

Come play Scrabble on the first Friday of each month. Join us after school February 5 in Ms. Sullivan’s room, A206. This is very informal and you can come when you can.

The Global Advantage Program will lead a trip to Ecuador from June 12-24. An informational meeting will take place on Tuesday, February 9 at 3:15pm in Ms. Megan’s art room. It will be awesome.
