Let us remember that we are in the holy presence of God.

God, as we begin this Catholic Schools Week, we pray for those teachers, staff, and volunteers who have dedicated their lives in service to Catholic schools. Amen

Saint John Baptist de La Salle…pray for us. Live Jesus in our hearts…forever!

Catholic Schools Week is underway at DeLaSalle as we celebrate our Catholic identity. We will gather for a Catholic Schools Week liturgy on Wednesday after 1st hour in the Florance Center. De parent and pastoral associate at Holy Rosary Church, Deb Organ, will reflect on the Year of Mercy.

This is also Winterfest week at DeLaSalle! Today’s out of uniform is Ugly Sweater Day. Nothing screams winter like a ridiculously ugly sweater! So flaunt your sweaters (keep it ugly…). Tomorrow’s out of uniform is USA Day – so dig through your dresser or closet to show your red, white, and blue star spangled swag.

Join your friends tonight in the LL Gray Gym for a showing of the Disney film “Aladdin” at 6:00pm. Student Council will serve free popcorn; concessions will also be available for purchase.

Don’t forget about the powderpuff volleyball game between the junior and senior boys on Wednesday at 3:30pm in the Main Gym, the Blood Drive on Friday, or the Sadie Hawkins Dance on Saturday.

Good luck to those Islanders participating in the Tri-Metro Fine Arts Festival today at Fridley High School. DeLaSalle student artists and musicians will participate in clinics with area college professors. Student musicians will perform in a free concert at 6:30pm and you are invited!

Fit Club held its first meeting today (from 7:30-8:10am in A219). If you could not make it in the morning, we will meet tomorrow after school from 3:15-4pm. Questions? See Miss Barry.

The Global Advantage Program will lead a trip to Ecuador from June 12-24. Come learn about the trip tomorrow at 3:15pm in Ms. Megan’s art room. It will be awesome.

Come hit the slopes with DeLaSalle at Hyland Park in Bloomington! The Alpine Ski Club will go skiing after school on Thursday. Click here to sign up. After you sign up, you must go to the Student Activities office to pick up a liability waiver form. Students may not participate in the event without a signed liability waiver form.

Students may bring their own ski/snowboarding equipment. Lift tickets cost $19; skis, snowboards, and helmets are available for rent. A bus will leave from the front of DeLaSalle at 3:45pm and return around 8pm. See Mr. Pribyl in the Student Activities office with questions.

Student Council, along with Memorial Blood Centers, will sponsor a Blood Drive on Friday, February 5, during Winterfest. Students and staff are encouraged to sign up to donate blood. You must be 16 or older to donate blood. You may sign up starting today in the Main Office.

Come celebrate Sports Day during Winterfest by playing the very best sport of all, chess! Chess Club will meet again after school Thursday until 5:00pm in A204. Players of all skill levels are welcome, and if you just have to time to stop by and play one quick game that’s fine. See Ms. Kocourek or Anders Jenson with any questions

Help the Technovation team! Click here to fill out a survey that will help team members develop a De-Stressing app.

The Tabletop Games Club will meet on Thu., 2/4/16, in B307.  Our game for the week is Formula D, in honor of Sports Day.  If you are not going Alpine skiing, come race with us.

Come play Scrabble on the first Friday of each month. Join us after school February 5 in Ms. Sullivan’s room, A206. This is very informal and you can come when you can.
