Let us remember that we are in the holy presence of God.

God, help me to live this day with wisdom and discretion so that I may not fall short of Your glory. Amen

Saint John Baptist de La Salle…pray for us. Live Jesus in our hearts…forever!

You can help pick next year’s Scripture theme. Mr. Lieske is looking for suggestions for the theme, especially Scripture passages that speak to DeLaSalle’s engagement with Pope Francis proclaiming this the Holy Year of Mercy. Submit your idea to Mr. Lieske along with your thinking about why it would be a good Scripture theme for next year. Email your suggestion or drop it off in the administration office before the end of the month.

We will recognize our winter sports athletes at a Pepfest after 8th hour today. Will your class claim the spirit stick? Let us hear your battle cry!

Students are not permitted to use the elevators without administrative permission. School consequences may be issued for students who continue to violate this school policy. See Ms. Weeks or Mr. Lemon with questions.

DeLaSalle Theatre features its latest productions – the Ninth Grade Shorts and Winter One-Acts. Happening this Friday and Saturday at 7:30pm in the Florence Center. The Ninth Grade Shorts are a series of short plays featuring 9th grade students exclusively. Far Way is DeLaSalle’s entry in the Minnesota State High School League One-Act Play Competition. Tickets cost $7 for general admission, $5 for students, and free for De students with current school ID.

Looking to avoid freezing in the cold outdoors? Then come warm up by playing Chess with your fellow Islanders instead. Chess Club meets again after school today until 5:00pm in A204 (note new room). Players of all skill levels are welcome, and if you just have to time to stop by and play one quick game, that’s fine. See Ms. Kocourek or Anders Jenson with any questions.

The Tabletop Games Club meets after school today in B307 and will play King of New York (with King of Tokyo as a backup if we have enough players). If you haven’t played these before, please watch this episode of Geek and Sundry’s Tabletop: King of Tokyo video for an introduction. King of New York is based on King of Tokyo, but has an expanded rules set. (Note: this is a YouTube link, so students will not be able to watch at school).

Will the principal be DeLaSalle’s King of New York?  Will he even show up to do battle?

Enjoy a hearty breakfast and help support the varsity cheer team as they travel to Florida for the UCA National Competition! The breakfast is Saturday from 8am-1pm at Cuzzy’s (507 Washington Ave. N., Minneapolis). Eggs, bacon, sausage, american fries, pancakes, and french toast – all for $10!

Congratulations to Islander girls’ basketball senior guard Aiza Wilson, who was named Player of the Week by Northstar Girls Hoops. Wilson has averaged 17 points per game for the Islanders this season, including a season-high 29 points earlier this month. She gained just shy of 50 percent of the 8,000 votes cast.

In order to best meet the needs of our growing student-athlete population, DeLaSalle has expanded its athletic training room hours. Our athletic trainer, Cindy Schlafmann, will be here for all home events, as well as the following:

  • Tuesday: 3:15-4:15pm
  • Wednesday: 4:15-5:30pm
  • Thursday: 3:15-4:15pm
  • Friday: 4:15-5:30pm
