Tomorrow is an out of uniform day. Wristbands will be sold at lunches today for $1 and for $2 tomorrow morning before school. Yoiu must wear a wristband to dress out of uniform.

As Winterfest approaches, Student Council prepares for the Sadies Hawkins Dance! Every year we choose a theme, but this is YOUR Student Council, so this year we are pushing the vote out to you. Fill out this survey before Wednesday. You must be logged in to your Student Islander Apps account to complete it.

Then, mark your calendar for the dance on February 6. More details coming soon!

The yearbook committee needs your help…..They need pictures that capture how you spent your Christmas break and New Year’s Eve. Please email images to yearbook@delasalle.com and make sure to include who is in the picture and where and what you are doing.

Are you interested in working in photography, graphic design, and/or broadcast journalism? Ms. Lundstrum will host an Open Media Lab in B201 for interested students after school on Tuesdays from 3:05-4:00pm, beginning January 12. Any student who is interested in contributing to the Yearbook is also welcome.

Looking to make good on your New Year’s resolution of getting better at Chess? Then boy do we have the thing for you! Chess Club will meet again after school until 5:00pm this Thursday in A107. Players of all skill levels are welcome, and if you just have to time to stop by and play one quick game, that’s fine. See Ms. Kocourek or Anders Jenson with any questions.

Starting this semester, Miss Barry and Mr. Christianson will start a Fit Club to help you maintain or improve your fitness level through a variety of fitness activities. As part of the club, members will be given or can purchase Pivotal Fitness bands to measure activity, steps and sleep levels, plus the opportunity to monitor calorie and water intake. If interested, complete this survey or see either Miss Barry or Mr. Christianson.

On Friday, we gather for an all school prayer service honoring the life of the Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.  The 56-minute liturgy will be held between first and second period in the Florance Center.

The February driver’s education class is full and any registrations that come in at this point will be put on a waiting list.

Student volunteers are needed to help Touchstone Mental Health conduct a telephone satisfaction survey of the more than 1,100 adults served annually by the South Minneapolis-based nonprofit provider of mental health services. Clients receive notice about the survey and know they will be receiving a phone call.

Surveys will be conducted on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 4:30-7:30pm on January 12-14, 19-21, and 26-28.

Volunteers do not need to participate every evening and can choose which dates will work with their schedules. Refreshments and snacks are provided.

If you are interested, please contact Kathie at 612-843-2201 to sign up or ask questions.
