Let us remember that we are in the holy presence of God.

God, on this Open House day, may we open our hearts and share our joy and spirit with those we meet. Amen

Saint John Baptist de La Salle…pray for us. Live Jesus in our hearts…forever!

All college visits take place in the Guidance office, unless otherwise noted. In order to meet with a college rep, you must register for the visit through your Naviance account and notify your teacher at least one day before the visit. You may show your teacher your iPad with the registration on Naviance as your pass. Remember, you are responsible for any work you miss during your visit with the college rep.

We host our next Open House for Prospective Students and Families tonight at 7:00pm. So that we can clean and prepare our campus for our guests, we ask that all students who are not involved in an after school activity leave campus immediately after school today. The Library & Technology Center will close at 3:15pm. Thank you for your cooperation.
There will be a 2-hour late start tomorrow. Classes will start at 10:30am as faculty and staff continue a professional development program related to racial equity and social justice teachings of the Catholic Church. Morning transportation routes tomorrow will also run two hours later than usual. And, remember, there is no breakfast served in the DeLaSalle Cafe on late start days.

Additional 2-hour late starts are scheduled on January 27, February 29, March 15, and April 14.

As Winterfest approaches, Student Council prepares for the Sadies Hawkins Dance! Every year we choose a theme, but this is YOUR Student Council, so this year we are pushing the vote out to you. Fill out this survey before Wednesday. You must be logged in to your Student Islander Apps account to complete it.

Then, mark your calendar for the dance on February 6. More details coming soon!

Are you interested in working in photography, graphic design, and/or broadcast journalism? Ms. Lundstrum will host an Open Media Lab in B201 for interested students after school on Tuesdays from 3:05-4:00pm, beginning January 12. Any student who is interested in contributing to the Yearbook is also welcome.

Starting this semester, Miss Barry and Mr. Christianson will start a Fit Club to help you maintain or improve your fitness level through a variety of fitness activities. As part of the club, members will be given or can purchase Pivotal Fitness bands to measure activity, steps and sleep levels, plus the opportunity to monitor calorie and water intake. If interested, complete this survey or see either Miss Barry or Mr. Christianson.

Student volunteers are needed to help Touchstone Mental Health conduct a telephone satisfaction survey of the more than 1,100 adults served annually by the South Minneapolis-based nonprofit provider of mental health services. Clients receive notice about the survey and know they will be receiving a phone call.

Surveys will be conducted on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 4:30-7:30pm on January 12-14, 19-21, and 26-28.

Volunteers do not need to participate every evening and can choose which dates will work with their schedules. Refreshments and snacks are provided.

If you are interested, please contact Kathie at 612-843-2201 to sign up or ask questions.

Seniors, don’t forget that all of your hours and paper are due by January 22 – no exceptions.  You can find Christian Service information, forms and agency ideas on the DeLaSalle website. Contact Mr. CJ Hallman in the Lasallian Ministry office if you have any questions or concerns.
