Welcome to the second semester. We hope you had a relaxing and rejuvenating Christmas Break. You may find more information about the second semester by clicking here.
There will be no loaner iPads available today (January 6).
Temporary student day passes will NOT be available on Friday, January 8. Vehicles not properly displaying a valid parking permit will be towed.
Juniors will participate in a day-long series of college planning activities on Friday. Students should report to their 1st hour class for attendance. During the breakout sessions, juniors will hear from college admission representatives and others about visiting colleges; the application process; financial aid and scholarships; testing skills for the ACT and SAT; and the NCAA, arts and medical careers. Please see the Guidance office with any questions.
Freshmen: You will gather for your first class retreat this Friday. This is a full day event where you have the opportunity to meet with your classmates, build class unity and share.  Here are some details regarding your retreat:

  • Attendance is mandatory.  If you miss a retreat day you are required to make up your absence through the guidance of the Lasallian Ministry office.
  • You must be in school uniform on retreat day.
  • Bring a bag lunch (juice or water will be provided)
  • Please leave all books, bags, headphones, cell phones, iPads, etc. at home or school.  These items are not allowed on retreat.
  • The retreat will run during the school day only.  You will check in to first hour for attendance and announcements and will move to the Albers Atrium to board buses which will bring you to the retreat site.
  • Please come with an open and positive attitude and you will have fun.
  • Any questions or concerns should be directed to Ms. Hodapp in the Lasallian Ministry office during your lunch period.

Seniors who will serve as 9th grade retreat leaders: Don’t forget that we meet at St. Maron’s Catholic Church at 7:45am on Friday. Complete your request for absence form and pick up a T-Shirt in Lasallian Ministry if you need one.

Girls interested in coding – join the Technovation Team in B201 after school today. Also sign up to learn how to code at “Girls Make Your Own App Day” this Saturday. Click here to register. To learn more about the DeLaSalle Technovation Team, please contact Mr. Pearson or Ms. Roggow
Game Day in the Lasallian Ministry office is tomorrow during all lunch periods.  We will then be off for two weeks but back on again on Thursday, January 28. We brought in 4 new games over the break so, come check it out.

Lasallian Ministry will not meet this week or next.  Our first meeting for the new year will be on Thursday, January 21 from 7:30-8:20am in A219 (formerly the Robert Casanova Room). All are welcome.
Come play Scrabble on the first Friday of each month. It starts Friday, January 8 after school in Ms. Sullivan’s room, A206. This is very informal and you can come when you can.
We host our next Open House for Prospective Students and Families on Monday evening at 7:00pm. So that we can clean and prepare our campus for our guests, we ask that all students who are not involved in an after school activity leave campus immediately after school on Monday. The Library & Technology Center will close at 3:15pm. Thank you for your cooperation.
Starting this semester, Miss Barry and Mr. Christianson will start a Fit Club to help you maintain or improve your fitness level through a variety of fitness activities. As part of the club, members will be given or can purchase Pivotal Fitness bands to measure activity, steps and sleep levels, plus the opportunity to monitor calorie and water intake. If interested, complete this survey or see either Miss Barry or Mr. Christianson.
Student volunteers are needed to help Touchstone Mental Health conduct a telephone satisfaction survey of the more than 1,100 adults served annually by the South Minneapolis-based nonprofit provider of mental health services. Clients receive notice about the survey and know they will be receiving a phone call.

Surveys will be conducted on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 4:30-7:30pm on January 12-14, 19-21, and 26-28.

Volunteers do not need to participate every evening and can choose which dates will work with their schedules. Refreshments and snacks are provided.

If you are interested, please contact Kathie at 612-843-2201 to sign up or ask questions.

Seniors, don’t forget that all of your hours and paper are due by January 22 – no exceptions.  You can find Christian Service information, forms and agency ideas on the DeLaSalle website. Contact Mr. CJ Hallman in the Lasallian Ministry office if you have any questions or concerns.

Great Gatherings directly support student scholarships while offering De parents an opportunity to connect with other parents in their child’s grade. The parties provide a fun, casual environment for parents to share their experiences as they and their children navigate high school – from being a 9th grader all the way to college admissions.

There are two more Great Gathering parties scheduled:

  • 11th grade: Saturday, January 16, 7:00pm
  • 12th grade: Saturday, January 9, 6:30pm

Click here if you would like to attend a party. The cost is $25 per person.
