She’s only been in high school for two years. And Erin McCarthy has qualified for the state swimming tournament both years.

McCarthy ‘18 qualified Nov. 7 for the state tournament with a first place finish in the 200 yard freestyle, in which she also set a new record. McCarthy also qualified in the 500 yard freestyle.

In the opening round of state tournament action on November 19, McCarthy placed eighth in the 200 yard freestyle and first in the 500 yard freestyle. With her first place finish, McCarthy broke her own school record.

McCarthy finished 8th in the finals of the 200 yard freestyle and 2nd in the finals of the 500 yard freestyle.
