Let us remember that we are in the holy presence of God.

All college visits take place in the Guidance office, unless otherwise noted. In order to meet with a college rep, you must register for the visit through your Naviance account and notify your teacher at least one day before the visit. You may show your teacher your iPad with the registration on Naviance as your pass. Remember, you are responsible for any work you miss during your visit with the college rep.

Thursday
-9:00-9:30am: St. Catherine’s University
-11:00am-1:30pm: Army & Army Reserves (Florance Center)

Tonight, we host many prospective students and families to our Open House. So that we can clean and prepare our campus for our guests, we ask that all students who are not involved in an after school activity leave campus immediately after school today. The Library & Technology Center will close at 3:15pm. Thank you for your cooperation.

Tomorrow will be an online learning day. You do not need to physically report to school but you should check Canvas, as teachers will share their activity by 9am. You can expect 20-30 minutes of activity for each class. Teachers will be available at various times throughout the day to respond to questions. This online learning day helps us practice how learning will occur should DeLaSalle have to implement an alternative school day in the winter due to inclement weather.

A special thank you to the entire DeLaSalle community for your participation in Diversity Week. At our next Lasallian Ministry meeting – this Thursday – we will have a special appreciation breakfast and activity, Please come to the Robert Casanova Room from 7:30-8:20am. All are welcome

Remember – all students, staff, and families may place prayers in prayer boxes located around campus (in the Main Office, Lasallian Ministry, and staff lounge). These prayers may be anonymous and may be offered for yourself or for the needs and joys you have seen in others.

This morning at 8:30am, De Parents in Prayer will meet in the Florance Center. Sponsored by the Parent Association, this group of DeLaSalle parents and family members will gather on campus once a month to lift up our community in prayer. We hope you will feel encouraged by the knowledge that people care about you, are excited for you and are PRAYING FOR YOU! All parents, family members, friends, and alumni are welcome.

Questions? Contact Parent Association co-chair Jackie Schluter-Johnson or Peg Hodapp.

What classes should you take in 9th & 10th grade?  How many AP classes?  What is a 529 Savings Plan?  Who receives scholarship monies?  What is an ideal GPA?  It’s never too early to plan for college.  College preparation means being ready academically and financially. Now’s the time to prepare!  Please join us Wednesday at 6:30pm in the Robert Casanova Room to ask questions and review building a solid foundation for college prep timeline.

Freshmen, mark your calendars for the night before Halloween for a 9th grade movie night. Join your friends for a showing of “Monster House” at 7:00pm in the LL Gray Gym. The movie should be done by 9:30pm. Student Council will provide free popcorn and Halloween candy. You may purchase pop and water. Admission is $2 (or only $1 if you also bring a canned good).

Like what you saw during Diversity Week!? The first Step Team practice/informational will be held Friday at 7:30am in the Robert Casanova Room. We will discuss the season, practice schedules, expectations, financial obligations and start learning the basics of stepping. If you are interested or just want to know more, please join us at this first practice! The cut off for joining the DeLaSalle ONYX Step Team will be Tuesday, November 24.

Students who played a fall sport that has ended should clean out their athletic lockers by this Friday. Student Activities staff will clean out any lockers after October 30. Any unclaimed items will be held in lost and found for some time before they are donated to Goodwill. Student athletes should remove their lock and hang it on the grate of their locker.

Here is an upcoming opportunity for you to earn Christian Service hours:

  • Lasallian Ministry is sponsoring two opportunities this Wednesday and Wednesday, November 4 immediately after school to assist elderly people with yard work and house chores.  The time is 3:15-5:15pm.  Please e-mail Ms. Hodapp if you are interested in either or both days.
