All college visits take place in the Guidance office, unless otherwise noted. In order to meet with a college rep, you must register for the visit through your Naviance account and notify your teacher at least one day before the visit. You may show your teacher your iPad with the registration on Naviance as your pass. Remember, you are responsible for any work you miss during your visit with the college rep.

Juniors, you will gather for your class retreat today. This is a full day event where you have the opportunity to meet with your classmates, build class unity and share. Here are some details regarding your retreat:

  • Attendance is mandatory. If you miss a retreat day, you are required to make up your absence through the guidance of Lasallian Ministry.
  • Students must be in uniform on retreat day.
  • Bring a bag lunch, one beverage will be provided. Please do NOT bring any food items that contain nuts or peanut butter of any kind because a student has a severe food allergy.
  • Please leave all books, bags, headphones, cell phones, iPads, etc. at home or school. These items are not allowed on retreat.
  • The retreat will run during the school day only. You will check in to first hour for attendance and will move to the Albers Atrium to board buses, which will bring you to the retreat site.
  • Please come with an open and positive attitude and you will have fun.
  • Please see Ms. Hodapp in Lasallian Ministry with any questions or concerns.

Ninth grade elections for Student Council are coming up on Friday, October 9. That day, freshmen will choose five classmates to join their Islander colleagues in leading the DeLaSalle student body.

To apply for nomination, interested students must pick up a self-nomination application form in Mr. Zavitz’s room (B205) or the Attendance Office. You must fully complete the form, including 10 nomination signatures from classmates, and return it to Mr. Zavitz for review. Applications are due no later than Tuesday, October 6 at 3:00pm. Full instructions for self-nomination are listed on the application itself.

Starting Monday, October 5,9th graders may post approved campaign posters at DeLaSalle. Posters must be approved by Mr. Lemon before they are posted. Again, freshmen will vote on Friday, Oct. 9 for class representatives.

​Registration is now open for winter sports. If you intend on trying out and playing a winter sport, you must register, even if you have already signed up on a sheet in the Florance Center during lunches. You will receive an email message with a link to the registration form. Please follow the necessary steps to register. This is not binding you to play, and there are no fees associated.

Are you a student who needs some extra help in your classes? Tutors will soon be available in some subjects like English, Science, and Theology. If you need extra help, please see your teacher to see when tutoring may be available for you. Tutoring is available in English on Tuesdays, in Science on Wednesdays from 3-4pm, and in Theology on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

If you are interested in serving as a tutor, you may need to sign up. Science tutors should click here to sign up. Theology tutors should click here to sign up. Please remember, you must be logged into your Student Islander Apps account in order to access and complete the sign up.

There will be a brief informational meeting for Robotics tomorrow after school at 3:15pm in B316.  All are welcome!  No previous experience necessary!  See Mr. Dirlam with any questions.

There will be an informational Speech meeting for RETURNING STUDENTS ONLY during lunches tomorrow. Meet Coach Schumacher in the Robert Cassanova Room. There will be a meeting at a later date for students who wish to join Speech for the first time.

Today is the last day to sign up for NAHS.  Drop off your contract with $3 to Ms. Megan in room B111.

​Juniors, discover benchmarks for your junior year on preparing to apply for college.​​ Your DeLaSalle college counseling staff will share insights on searching for colleges, financing your education, locating scholarships and choosing the right college for you! Learn in a fun and relaxed setting how to design your own path to college. Juniors, please invite your parents and/or guardians to join you on Monday at 6:30pm in the Library.

​Seniors – you will gather for a class Mass on Tuesday morning with school chaplain, Fr. Joe Kuharski, at Our Lady of Lourdes Church. Please put your belongings in your locker after 1st hour and report to the Florance Center for further direction.

​Need Christian Services hours? Want to have fun with your friends while making a difference in the community? Join the GREEN Team for this fall’s DeLaSalle Waste Sort! Come to the waste bins behind Christian Brothers’ Hall at 3:10 to help. We should be done by 5:00pm. Gloves and aprons will be provided.

​The GREEN Team meets every Tuesday at 3:10pm in Ms Williams-Freier’s room.  We are working on several projects related to energy efficiency, composting, gardening, solar power, and biodiesel.  All are welcome!  And don’t forget to join us for our upcoming waste sort on Tuesday at 3:10pm by the waste bins behind Christian Brothers’ Hall. You can earn Christian Service hours for participating in the waste sort.

DeLaSalle is starting a Mock Trial team this year, and we are looking for attorneys to help coach the team.  Commitment can be as little as one hour a week, before or after school.  The season runs from mid-October through January.  Work with students on creating opening or closing statements, direct and cross examinations as well as learning the Mock Trial rules of evidence.  Our students are very excited about this opportunity but we need a few extra “legal” hands to help us out!  Please come and share your knowledge and experience.  If you are  interested, please contact the teacher coach of the Mock Trial team, Sheri Hank. Thank you!

Attention all 12th graders:  Please remember that all of your Christian Service hours must be documented no later than January 22, 2016.  This is less than four months away.  Now is the time to figure out your plan.  Stop by Lasallian Ministry to see Mr. Hallman for tips, forms and information, which you can also find on the DeLaSalle website.
