Let us remember that we are in the holy presence of God.

God, today I commit myself to being your disciple: to prayer, serving those in need, and giving joyfully of the gifts that You first gave me. Amen

Saint John Baptist de La Salle…pray for us. Live Jesus in our hearts…forever!

Apple will be releasing a software update for the iPad called iOS 9. Students should NOT update their iPad with the new operating system until DeLaSalle’s technology team has tested school apps for iOS 9 compatibility and functionality in the school environment so we can transition smoothly to the new software.

Please ignore any iOS 9 software update notifications or prompts that appear on your iPad until further notice from DeLaSalle.

Students who update to iOS 9 before given permission will have restrictions placed on their device and all personal apps will be deleted for the remainder of the semester.

Enjoy the fresh air during your lunch! Founders Park is now open, weather permitting. Students are permitted to be in the Founder’s park area only. All students are required to bring their lunch trays and dishes inside to be turned in and to complete their composting. Remember to be mindful of our neighbors and classes near Founders Park. Students are NOT allowed to play major athletic games like football or kickball.

When the first bell rings, students are welcome to go in the First Come First Serve Line. Once the second bell rings, we will stop students from entering the line, and will start calling students to eat by grade level. We want students to hold each other accountable, so please pick up after yourselves and remind your peers to do the same. Make sure to check the lunch line order, which will be posted on the left hand side of B110 (the entrance for the lunch line). This order is not set in stone and will change. Please remember that no food from off-campus sources may be delivered to school unless approved by school administration.

Please note a change in the lunch menu this week. Today’s menu will be:

ENTREE: SOUP, DELI SANDWICH, SMALL TOSSED SALAD; A LA CARTE: TUNA PASTA SALAD, CAPRISE SANDWICH, ICE CREAM

…while Friday’s menu now reads:

ENTREE: CHICKEN ENCHILADAS, SQUASH, REFRIED BEANS; A LA CARTE: TOSSED SALAD, TURKEY CLUB ON KAISER, OREO CAKE

Professional photographers will take fall sports team pictures this week to be included in the 2015-16 yearbook. Individual coaches will share more information, including picture order forms, with players before the pictures. Here is the schedule of team pictures.

Do you have a star Service Project you’d like to nominate to be highlighted? Email Mr. Hallman with this amazing student’s name, and what actions they did (whether it be collecting coins for development projects overseas, or organizing a walkathon, or volunteering every week at a local nursing home!)  Lasallian Ministry loves to hear about your service work and your project has a chance to be highlighted on our blog or at We Day!

Do you have an interest in electronic music production, songwriting, or vocal performance? If so, register today for a free one-day music industry experience at GRAMMY Camp Weekend. The event is Saturday, September 19 from 9am-5pm at the Minneapolis Central Library and includes lunch. Experts will help you understand the latest technologies and how you can hone your skills. Click here to download a flyer with more information, including how to register.

DeLaSalle has a chance to win $10,000 through a Twitter contest involving the car-sharing company @car2go. On your personal Twitter or Instagram account, post using #car2GoIslanders to show your school spirit!

How would you like to see all of the Broadway touring musicals coming to Minneapolis for free? If you love musical theatre, don’t miss participating in this activity. The Critical Review program invites high students throughout the Twin Cities to see the whole season free and in addition learn the skills of a professional theatre critic and much more. Some show highlights this season are: The Little Mermaid; Beautiful — The Carole King Musical; Newsies; The Book of Mormon; and The Lion King.  Click here for more information. If you have questions, see Ms. Zawislak in B212. Applications should be posted on the website this month.
