Let us remember that we are in the holy presence of God.

God, I begin this school year eager to learn. Help open my mind to all that my teachers and classmates have to teach me. Amen

Saint John Baptist de La Salle…pray for us. Live Jesus in our hearts…forever!

If you are a 10th, 11th, or 12th grade student who completed Christian Service Hours over the summer, then please turn in your hours as soon as possible. You may find validation forms here or in the Lasallian Ministry office . If you are a transfer student and have questions, please see Mr. “CJ”Hallman during your lunch period.  9th graders, Christian Service information will be shared in your Theology classes within the next two weeks.

Just a reminder that the Lasallian Ministry office is located in the lower level of Christian Brothers Hall – the building you can access through the archway. Come visit! We have our own entrance to the building and welcome you before or after school or during lunch.

Welcome back, Islanders! We’re starting the 2015 – 2016 theatre season off with a Theatre kick-off meeting tomorrow from 3:15-4:15pm in the Band Room. We’ll be announcing the productions this year, helping you prepare for auditions, ask questions and chat with the directors. Anyone interested in the program is welcome. See you there!

If you can’t make the meeting but want more information, email Mr. Buffington.

The school community will gather for the first Mass of the school year after 1st hour on Friday. This Mass is offered to ask for the guidance of the Holy Spirit in all parts of our life. Students are asked to leave all personal items including I-Pads secured in their first hour classroom and move to the Florance Center to be seated with your first hour class in a designated location.  Please move quickly and quietly and move all the way into the row. No food, drink or gum is allowed during all school assemblies. Liturgical theologian and composer Fr. Michael Joncas will celebrate the Mass.

Protective cases have been provided by DeLaSalle for each student-issued device. All devices must be within the school-issued protective case at all times. Students will not be permitted to use their own personal case but can purchase and use their own bluetooth keyboard, if desired.

Students should have updated their school-issued iPad to iOS 8.4. If you have not done this, please DO NOT do this at school. You must complete this step at home. As a reminder, you must have at least 50% battery and be connected to Wi-Fi. It is recommended to put your device on the charger and let it update overnight. Follow the instructions below to update:

  1. Open Settings and tap General
  2. Tap on Software Update and then “Install Now”
  3. Enter your passcode
  4. Select “Agree”

Please visit the Library & Technology Center during your lunch period or before or after school if you have any questions.

WELCOME BACK! Please check your Islander Apps email frequently for messages from your college advisers. We are knee deep in scheduling various college representative visits in our office. If you indicate in your Naviance account that you are interested in, or applying to various colleges, we will send you an email when colleges that you are interested in visit DLS. (You can do this by logging into your NAVIANCE account and going in to the Colleges tab)
Other opportunities that are happening are fall fly in programs. Fly in programs are designed to get you on campus at little or no cost. Please look carefully at the criteria to make sure that you qualify.
