Thank you to all for your participation in our Founder’s Day Mass yesterday. Because we hosted a memorial for Br. Cyril Litecky after the Mass, we postponed our traditional Founder’s Day ice cream celebration until today. Staff will help hand out ice cream during lunches today.
Good luck to those taking Advanced Placement (AP) exams today.
- AP US History (LL Gray Gym). The hallway leading to the LL Gray gym will be closed this morning through period 6. Students taking this test will be eating lunch during period 6 and return to class period 7.
- AP European History (Robert Casanova Room): These test takers will attend periods 1-3, eat lunch period 4, and report to the Robert Casanova Room period 5 to begin the test.
Hallway Closings: The hallway between the library and the Robert Casanova room will be closed in the afternoon until about 3:30-3:45pm and students will have to pass on first floor. Please be respectful of our testers.
Monday’s test: Monday’s test is AP Biology, which will take place in the LL Gray gym. Students will report to the LL Gray gym at 8:15am.
Interested in participating in Student Council next year? Here are some reminders:
- All nomination forms are available in the Main Office.
- Students must take the information sheet along with the nomination form to understand Student Council Expectations.
- Executive Board nominations are due immediately this week, and Class Representative nominations are due next Thursday, May 14 by 4:00pm to Ms. Weeks’s office.
- See Ms. Weeks or Mr. Zavitz with any questions about the elections process or student council requirements.
Now through the end of the school year, DeLaSalle is piloting a one-way traffic flow in front of the school. School days between 7:30-8:30am and 2:30-3:30pm, vehicles will be directed one-way westbound in front of DeLaSalle toward West Island Avenue. Parents may drop off their children along the one-way route in the morning, but must wait on West Island Avenue to pick up students in the afternoon. Vehicle traffic approaching DeLaSalle from West Island Avenue will not be able to turn right onto DeLaSalle Drive.

The DeLaSalle Cafe is a pre paid lunch account system. As of today, if your account has a negative balance, you will not be able to purchase any items in the Cafe. All students who do have a negative balance will be offered a sack lunch with a cheese sandwich, fruit and milk.
This summer, DeLaSalle will be refreshing the devices for its IslePad one-to-one program with the purchase of new iPad Air devices. As part of this transition, DeLaSalle is offering students the opportunity to purchase their current iPad 2 device for $100. You may place orders now. The last day to place an order is May 15. This purchase price includes the case and charger that is currently assigned to the student. Click here to find the iPad Purchase Form. Devices that are not purchased will need to be returned on the last day of classes. Charges will be incurred for any damage to the device or charger.
Anyone interested in playing girls’ tennis this fall should stop and see Coach Barry and sign up. Coach Barry will be in the Florance Center during all lunches today.
Come wet a line with the DeLaSalle Fishing Club. We’ll meet in front of school tomorrow at 9am and fish off the Island river banks. Bring your own fishing gear. If you are 16 or older, you need to buy a fishing license; licenses are sold at most gas stations. There will be prizes for biggest fish and most fish caught. All are welcome to join us. Yearbooks are sold out. If you would still like a yearbook and want to get on the waitlist, please bring in your order form and payment to Ms. Beckman in the LTC or to Mr. Lemon in the Attendance Office. The yearbook publishing company typically sends extra books but we will not know the exact number until next week.
Looking for 4 students to help with an event on Tuesday, May 12 for 4 hours. You would be a greeter for the entire event. If you are interested, please email Mr. Hallman by Tuesday.
