Spring Break/Easter – March 30-April 6, 2015

Let us remember that we are in the holy presence of God.

Lord, may our remembrance of your death and Resurrection renew in us a sense of gratitude for the gift of Eternal Life. Amen

Saint John Baptist de La Salle…pray for us. Live Jesus in our hearts…forever!

There are no classes scheduled during Spring Break. This includes no classes on Easter Monday (April 6). Classes resume on Tuesday, April 7.

The main school office will be open during Spring Break from 8:00am-4:00pm. The school is closed on Friday, April 3 because it is Good Friday. Please note that many staff choose to take time off during the break. You may find how to contact an individual staff member through our online staff directory.

No fooling…Wednesday, April 1 is the deadline to apply for the ACT Ready class at DeLaSalle. This optional six-week class help prepares current juniors for the June 13 ACT exam. The ACT Ready class builds test-taking skills through study guides and actual ACT tests. On average, students who complete all assignments increase their ACT scores by 3 to 5 composite points, translating to an overall 20% to 25% improvement in their national percentile rankings. Completed registration forms, along with the $150 registration fee, are due to Mrs. McAdams in the Guidance office no later than April 1. Please note that classes will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. See Mrs. McAdams with any questions.

Islanders are going back to PINZ! Back by popular demand, Student Council has planned another field trip to PINZ for a fun night of bowling, laser tag, and arcade games. Join your classmates and friends on Friday, April 10. Tickets cost $10 and you can buy one during lunch periods April 7-10. The ticket includes admission, unlimited bowling, one game of laser tag. Students, bring extra money if you want to play any arcade games or buy food.

If you buy a ticket to PINZ, you have to ride a bus to and from DeLaSalle. Students with PINZ tickets should plan to be at De on April 10 by 6:00pm for the bus that leaves at 6:15pm. The bus returns at 10:30pm; students should plan to be picked up at that time.

Learn more about PINZ here.

Atlatl Society will start again after Spring Break. We will meet on Tuesday, April 7, after school in Mr. Sczepanski’s Room, B302, from 3:15-4:15. Stop by and see if you have what it takes to hunt the big game!

FAME “Fine Arts Music English” submissions are due Friday, April 10. Drop your submission off with Ms. Longman or Ms. Beckman.  Please attach a submission form that will be available outside of Ms. Longman’s and Ms. Lundstrum’s classroom and Ms. Beckman’s office in the LTC.

Parents, please join DeLaSalle’s college advisers in the Guidance office for croissants Tuesday, April 7 from 8:00-9:00am. Please take a moment to think back to your experiences during Social Justice Awareness Week and share your feedback with Lasallian Ministry in this short survey. Thank you.
