In response to the recent national events surrounding race relations, DeLaSalle students are invited to participate in a listening session with staff members to share questions and provide input into continued dialogue and education around cultural relations in general. Keeping in mind the Catholic Social Teachings and our own Lasallian heritage, what can we do as a community to better educate ourselves?

These listening sessions will be held tomorrow during all lunch periods in the Robert Casanova Room. Please plan to bring your lunch and join in the conversation. Passes to the front of the lunch line are available in the Campus Ministry office or in the Casanova Room.

Winterfest is coming! The weeklong event kicks off next Monday. And junior and senior boys can sign up now for the Powderpuff volleyball game, which will be played after school Monday in the Gym. Sign up on the sheet outside the boys’ locker room. We’ll post more Winterfest details, including out-of-uniform days, soon.
Come to the Robert Casanova Room during lunch today for a fun exploration of what career may be right for you. Ms. Gamiao from the Guidance office will lead the Lunch ‘n Learn session. If you can’t make it today, there will be another session offered Friday. Bring your lunch and iPad for a fun and interactive exploration of careers. You don’t need to register, but you are encouraged to get a pass from the Guidance office to move to the front of the lunch line. See you there!
Lasallian Ministry will meet Thursday for the first time this semester. All are welcome. The meeting will be in the Robert Casanova Room from 7:30-8:20am. Snacks will be provided.
Your next opportunity to volunteer serving the afternoon meal at Sharing & Caring Hands is a week from tomorrow – Wednesday, January 28. Please email Miss Barry if you are interested in serving.
If you are interested in playing boys’ tennis this year, please email Coach Barry ( as soon as possible and sign up during your lunch hour on Friday, February 13. Coach will provide updates before the start of the season.
Chess Club has been moved to THURSDAYS. Join us for some friendly competition this Thursday from 3:15-4:30pm in Room A204. E-mail Ms. Kocourek if you are interested, or just stop in. Everyone is welcome, from beginners to pros! It may be possible to earn a school letter for chess club.
Do you want to learn more about metal working? Vesper Atelier in Northeast Minneapolis is offering a high school workshop for students who are interested in TIG welding, plasma cut and pour bronze. You are invited to a prayer service for life at Lumen Christi Catholic Church (2055 Bohland Ave., St. Paul) on Thursday, January 29 at 7:00pm. Meet in the chapel for scripture readings, Mass, and prayer. A social with refreshments will follow.
On President’s Day, Monday, February 16, DeLaSalle will be the site for the 3rd annual Missing Voices: Equity in Education Summit. Sponsored by St. Mary’s University, this gathering is focused on bringing together youth, parents and educators to engage in dialogue and creative problem solving surrounding the inequities and gaps in our educational system. We are seeking 15 students who can serve as hosts for our guests as well as conference participants. If you are interested and able to participate, please e-mail Ms. Hodapp for more details. Some Christian Service Hours will be awarded.
Volunteer at Jenny Lind school’s open gym this Friday from 6:00-7:00pm. You can help with open gym, basketball, bouncy houses for younger students, food, and games. If you are interested in volunteering, contact Kathleen Stratton. Please send a message from your personal email since emails between you and Ms. Stratton may get filtered out of DeLaSalle’s email system.
