Around Christmas Time, for the past 22 years, DeLaSalle has spiritually adopted several families through Sponsor a Family Minnesota and the Aliveness Project. These families have benefited greatly from our generous spirit. Last year, our community raised almost $4,000. Several teachers have graciously agreed to be the money collection point for each grade level. Donate money in 9th and 10th grade Theology classes, in 11th grade Social Studies classes, and 12th grade English classes.  Money collection continues through Wednesday, Dec. 3. Thank you in advance for your generosity
Would you like to go Christmas shopping for our adoptive families? Sign up in the Lasallian Ministry office or send an e-mail to Ms. Hodapp. We will shop after school on Friday, Dec. 5 from 3:15-5:00pm.
Lasallian Ministry meets today from 7:30-8:20am in the Robert Casanova Room.  All are welcome, snacks provided.
Lunchtime Game Day in Lasallian Ministry resumes today. Come to Lasallian Ministry for games and candy.  Next week we will have our raffle that was postponed from Diversity Week.
Tomorrow, you will gather for your sophomore class retreat.  This is a full day event where you have the opportunity to meet with your classmates, build class unity and share.

These details will help you plan for Friday:

  • Attendance is mandatory.  If you miss a retreat day you are required to attend a make-up retreat through the guidance of the campus ministry department.
  • Service is the theme so you may come out of uniform. However, you must be in clothes in which you can work and must follow out of uniform guidelines (i.e.no exposed bellies, no skirts, no short shorts, etc.)
  • ABSOLUTELY NO open toe or open back shoes are allowed.  This is a requirement of the service sites. You MUST wear tennis shoes
  • Bring a bag lunch; water or juice will be provided. No microwaves available.
  • Please leave all books, iPads, bags, purses, headphones, cell phones, etc. at home or school.  These items are not allowed on retreat.
  • The retreat will run during the school day only.  You will check in to first hour for attendance and announcements and move to the Florance Center for the start of the day
  • Please come with an open and positive attitude and you will have fun.
  • See Ms. Hodapp in the Lasallian Ministry office with any questions or concerns

Come see your classmates perform in M*A*S*H, the story of two new captains who shake up the 4077th M*A*S*H (Mobile Army Surgical Hospital) by using humor and hijinks to cope with the daily carnage of war. Showtimes are at 7:30pm tomorrow, Saturday and the following Friday and Saturday. Admission for DeLaSalle students is free with a current DLS student ID.
Today is the last day to sign up for the fan bus to Saturday’s state football semifinal between DeLaSlale and Hutchinson. Please sign up by 1:30pm today if you want to ride the bus. Fan buses will leave from the front of DeLaSalle on Saturday at 10:30am.

Please note, Saturday’s game has been moved to 12:00pm at Prior Lake High School because of better field conditions there than at Wayzata High School, where the game was originally going to be played.

And don’t forget to buy your game ticket before school, during lunch, or after school today and tomorrow in the Albers Atrium. Tickets cost $10 for adults and $7 for students. You may also buy a football t-shirt for $5 when you buy your game ticket.

Islander quarterback Billy Hart ’15 has been named one of three finalists for KARE 11’s High School Football MVP award. Click here to vote for Billy; your vote could help him win the top prize.
Good luck to Erin McCarthy ’18, who competes tonight in the state swimming tournament in the 200- and 500-yard freestyle events. The tournament starts tomorrow at 6:00pm at the University of Minnesota Aquatic Center. Tickets cost $8. Good luck Erin!
There’s still time to go to Costa Rica over spring break to learn about art and culture. If you are serious about going on the trip, please see Ms. Megan or Mr. Casey before Thanksgiving.
The November meeting of the DeLaSalle Parent Association has been rescheduled for Monday, November 17. Join us in the Robert Casanova Room at 6:30pm as we welcome Mr. Brad Casey, who will speak about the Global Advantage program and opportunities for students to experience international academic travel and exchanges.
Former DeLaSalle Principal Br. Basil Rothweiler died early Saturday. You may have never met Brother Basil although you likely have been in the room named after him in the Development building. Brother Basil was 97 years old. Just within the last few months, he celebrated 80 years as a DeLaSalle Christian Brother. Please join us in praying for the soul of Br. Basil, for his immediate family, and for his family of Christian Brothers.

Visitation for Br. Basil will be held Tuesday, Nov. 18 from 4:00-7:00pm at Holy Spirit Catholic Church with a funeral Mass at 7:00pm.
