DeLaSalle will dismiss classes at 1:00pm today because of the predicted heavy snow and severely impacted rush hour commute. Afternoon buses will dismiss at 1:15pm. Activity coaches and moderators will communicate updated practice and meeting schedules separately.

We will follow this shortened class schedule:

  • Period 1: 8:30-9:16
  • Period 2: 9:21-9:48
  • Period 3: 9:53-10:20
  • Period 7: 10:25-10:52
  • Period 4: 10:57-11:24
  • Period 5: 11:29-11:56
  • Period 6: 12:01-12:28
  • Period 8: 12:33-1:00

Due to today’s early dismissal, there will be no Cheer or Theatre practice.  Also, 9th grade boys’ basketball practice will start tomorrow (Tuesday) at 5pm in the Main Gym.

Congratulations to the Islander varsity football team for their 55-21 win over Cloquet in the Class 4A state quarterfinal.

The Islanders move on to the semifinal this Saturday at 11:00am at Wayzata High School against Hutchinson.

Tickets cost $10 for adults and $7 for students. You can buy a game ticket before school starting at 8:00am, during lunches, and after school on Thursday and Friday. You may also buy a football t-shirt for $5 when you buy your game ticket.

Details about a fan bus, including sign-up and bus departure times, will be released later today.

Congratulations to Erin McCarthy ’18, who qualified Saturday for the state swimming and diving tournament in the 200- and 500-yard freestyle events. The state tournament begins Thursday at 6:00pm at the University of Minnesota Aquatic Center. Tickets cost $8. Good luck Erin!

And congratulations to swimmers Julia Eubanks ’18, Anna Nelson ’15, Louise Rossiter ’16, who also competed in Saturday’s section finals.

A former principal of DeLaSalle died over the weekend. You may have never met Brother Basil Rothweiler although you likely have been in the room named after him in the Development building. Brother Basil was 97 years old. Just within the last few months, he celebrated 80 years as a DeLaSalle Christian Brother. Please join us in praying for the soul of Br. Basil, for his immediate family, and for his family of Christian Brothers.
