All college visits take place in the Guidance office, unless otherwise noted. Please get a pass from your teacher to meet with the college representative.

Thursday

Two artists from St. Paul-based Exposed Brick Theatre will be in residence at DeLaSalle this week and lead workshops for students in English classes on creating theatre from their own stories. The school will identify 15-20 students from the workshops who will work with Exposed Brick Theatre artists over December and January to turn the student stories into a full production that will be performed during Social Justice Week in February 2015.
All are invited to join the Parent Association tonight at 6:30pm in the Florance Center as we enjoy ARTS and TREATS, a family celebration of Diversity Week. Treats will be at 6:30pm and the program to follow at 7:00pm.

All are welcome to this FREE event, bring family and friends. We encourage all to bring a sweet or savory treat to share that reflects your heritage, treats must be store-bought. Come see a festive celebration of culture through song, dance, art and spoken word.

A special thank you to the entire DeLaSalle community for your participation in Diversity Week. At our next Lasallian Ministry meeting on Thurdsay, November 13, we will have a special appreciation breakfast, Please come to the Robert Casanova Room between 7:30-8:20am.
Come to the Chapel for an after school Mass today at 3:15pm. All are welcome. The Chapel is located right above the Lasallian Ministry office.
On Tuesday, November 11, we will gather for a Veterans Day Mass to honor those Islanders who have served or are serving in the military.  Parents and alumni are invited to RSVP to Jessica Luckett if they want to attend the Mass.

If you have a friend or family member who you would like included in a veterans honor wall, please send their name, a picture, their years and branch of service, and any other details to Ms. Luckett by Wednesday, November 5.

Congratulations to DeLaSalle Quiz Bowlers Hannah Brand ‘15, Alex Harris ‘15, Julian Spencer ‘16, and Cameron Swenson ‘15, who qualified this past weekend for the Quiz Bowl national championship, which will be held the weekend of May 30, 2015, in Chicago. This is the 9th straight year in which DeLaSalle students have qualified for nationals.
The Yearbook Troll is hiding again. Find the Troll and return it to Ms Beckman in the Library & Technology Center. The student who finds the Troll will receive a $5 gift card of their choice. Reminder that Yearbooks are currently $46, order forms are available in the Attendance Office and in the Library & Technology Center.
Attention senior parents – yearbook parent senior ads are now on sale. All order forms are due by Saturday, November 15. Click here for more information.
The Islander varsity boys’ soccer team will compete against #5 seed Chaska tomorrow at 11:00am in the Class A state semifinal game at St. Cloud State University Stadium.

Classes are canceled tomorrow because of the game. Teachers may be available for individual help and feedback about coursework; they will communicate their availability separately.

Tickets for the semifinal game cost $10 for adults and $7 for students. You may buy tickets at the stadium starting one hour prior to kickoff.

You may sign up for a fan bus here. Please sign up by 1:30pm today. The fan bus tomorrow leaves from the front of DeLaSalle at 8:45am. If the Islanders win on Wednesday, they will play on Thursday at 9:30am in the championship game. Please let us know when you sign up for the fan bus if you would like to ride a fan bus on Thursday, if the Islanders make it to the final round.

Morning transportation routes (Minneapolis & St. Paul/suburban) will operate on a normal schedule on Wednesday morning for those students who plan to go to the game. Students are responsible for their own transportation home on Wednesday.

Buy a soccer t-shirt and show your support for the state tournament contending Islanders. T-shirts are $10 and you can buy them today during lunches in the Student Activities office or after school in Albers Atrium.
Come cheer on the Islander varsity volleyball team as they compete tonight in the next round of the section playoffs. The #2 seed Islanders face #3 seed Mound Westonka at 7:00pm. Tickets are $7 for adults and $5 for students.

Meanwhile, the Islander varsity football team plays on Friday (Halloween) at 7:00pm in the section championship for the chance to go to state! The Islanders have the #1 seed and play #2 seed Benilde-St. Margaret’s. Tickets are $8 for adults and $6 for students.

A reminder that everyone, including students, must pay at section playoffs.

There will be no Art Club meeting after school tomorrow – because we don’t have school. Let’s cheer the varsity boys’ soccer team to a win!
You saw them yesterday at the Diversity Week kickoff. Now YOU can join the ONYX Step Team during the first practice/informational meeting this Friday at 7:30am in the Robert Casanova Room. We will discuss the season, practice schedules, expectations, financial obligations and start learning the basics of stepping. If you are interested or just want to know more, please join us at this first practice! The cut off for joining the DeLaSalle ONYX Step Team will be Friday, November 21.
How about getting everyone at your lunch table (or two) to pitch in a buck to give little one a lovable Lil Toy? Do it for the little kids who have so little. Bring items to Lasallian Ministry all month.
