This week we will be celebrating and honoring the rich diversity that is present at DeLaSalle High School and in the world.  It is our hope that the events and programs that are planned for the week will provide a springboard into a yearlong and life long appreciation of the beauty that exists in every aspect of diversity.

Today we will gather for a celebration immediately following 1st period.  All students and staff should move directly to the Florance Center for the program with a reminder that books, ipads, book bags, and other items should be left in your first period classroom.  At our celebration event we will have several invited guests and performers.  These people are here to share their talents with us as well as observe our awesome student body in action.  Let’s show them our spirit of respect.

Please join the Parent Association on Tuesday as we enjoy ARTS and TREATS, a family celebration of Diversity Week. Treats will be at 6:30pm and the program to follow at 7:00pm in the Florance Center. All are welcome to this FREE event, bring family and friends. We encourage all to bring a sweet or savory treat to share that reflects your heritage, treats must be store-bought. Come see a festive celebration of culture through song, dance, art and spoken word. We are still in need of some set-up and serving volunteers. Please contact Karin Glanville or Jackie Schluter-Johnson if you would like to help! Please help support and celebrate our diversity at DE!
DeLaSalle will host its first Open House for prospective students and families tonight. Students, if you are not involved in an after school activity on Monday, please leave campus immediately after school so we can prepare our campus for visitors. Thank you!
Stressed out? Start your Monday with a meditation and a manicure. Meet in Ms. Lyngen’s room, B206, at 7:30am.
Come to the Chapel for an after school Mass tomorrow at 3:15pm. All are welcome. The Chapel is located right above the Lasallian Ministry office.
The Islander varsity boys’ soccer team will compete against #5 seed Chaska on Wednesday at 11:00am in the Class A state semifinal game at St. Cloud State University Stadium.

Classes are canceled on Wednesday because of the game. Teachers may be available for individual help and feedback about coursework; they will communicate their availability separately.

Tickets for the semifinal game cost $10 for adults and $7 for students. You may buy tickets at the stadium starting one hour prior to kickoff.

You may sign up for a fan bus here. Please sign up by 1:30pm tomorrow. The fan bus on Wednesday leaves from the front of DeLaSalle at 8:45am. If the Islanders win on Wednesday, they will play on Thursday at 9:30am in the championship game. Please let us know when you sign up for the fan bus if you would like to ride a fan bus on Thursday, if the Islanders make it to the final round.

Morning transportation routes (Minneapolis & St. Paul/suburban) will operate on a normal schedule on Wednesday morning for those students who plan to go to the game. Students are responsible for their own transportation home on Wednesday.

Get complete state tournament coverage here.

The Islander varsity football and volleyball teams both remain alive in section playoffs.

The Islander football team beat Park Center over the weekend 61-13 to advance to the section championship game on Halloween (Friday) at 7:00pm against #2 seed Benilde-St. Margaret’s here at DeLaSalle. Tickets are $8 for adults and $6 for students.

Volleyball plays tomorrow at 7:00pm against #3 seed Mound Westonka at DeLaSalle. Tickets cost $7 for adults and $5 for students.

A reminder that everyone, including students, must pay at section playoffs.

How about getting everyone at your lunch table (or two) to pitch in a buck to give little one a lovable Lil Toy? Do it for the little kids who have so little. Bring items to Lasallian Ministry all month.
