Let us remember that we are in the holy presence of God.

God, may I follow the example of Saint John Paul II, who showed us that living a holy life is the way to eternal life. Amen

Saint John Baptist de La Salle…pray for us. Live Jesus in our hearts…forever!

Today is the big day! The varsity boys’ soccer team plays Mahtomedi in the state quarterfinal at 5:30pm at Chisago Lakes High School.

Show your Islander spirit today by wearing black and gold, Islander apparel or Hawaiian themed clothing. Your appearance must follow the out of uniform guidelines in the Student-Parent Handbook.

Tickets are $7 for adults and $5 for students; ticket sales start one hour before kickoff.

If you signed up for the fan bus, the bus will leave from the front of DeLaSalle at 3:30pm and will return to DeLaSalle immediately following the game. Chisago Lakes is about 45 minutes to an hour northeast of the Twin Cities.

Good luck to the varsity volleyball team, which hosts the first round of playoffs tonight at 7:00pm against Blake. Everyone must pay to attend the game, including De students. Tickets are $7 for adults and $5 for students.

The varsity football team will host the section semifinal game against #4 seed Park Center on Saturday at 7:00pm. Ticket prices are $8 for adults and $6 for students. Again, a reminder that everyone, including students, must pay.

The school community will gather for a brief assembly tomorrow at 8:30am in the Main Gym to recognize John McFarling, who recently retired after 23 years in building maintenance. Students, please report to the Main Gym by 8:30am and sit with your classmates like you would for a Pepfest (i.e. 9th graders sit together, 10th graders sit together, etc.). Students will be dismissed to 1st hour immediately following the recognition.

Mr. McFarling worked every day to keep our school clean, make sure that heating, cooling, and other mechanical systems worked properly, and that facilities were set up for special events like an all school Mass or daily activities like student lunches. Thank you for your service, John McFarling!

Game Day is back this week with Lasallian Ministry! Bring your friends over during lunches today and enjoy a day of fun in the Lasallian Ministry office!
All students interested in playing girls’ basketball this winter should attend an informational meeting and sign up TODAY during all lunches in the Robert Casanova room.
Will you be on campus waiting for the fan bus to leave?  Do you want to get some work done on your college applications?  If so, stop by the Guidance office for help filling out applications.  We will have light snacks and be open late to help you with any aspect of your applications!  Hope to see you there!
How about getting everyone at your lunch table (or two) to pitch in a buck to give little one a lovable Lil Toy? Do it for the little kids who have so little. Bring items to Lasallian Ministry all month.
Junior lunches began yesterday with Mr. Lieske and Mr. Benson. Juniors, you will get an invitation to the lunch in your Student Islander Apps email. These lunches give you a chance to share your opinion about important issues at DeLaSalle.
DeLaSalle will host its first Open House for prospective students and families on Monday. Students, if you are not involved in an after school activity on Monday, please leave campus immediately after school so we can prepare our campus for visitors. Thank you!
Our 17th annual Diversity Week is next week. On Monday, we kick off the week with a celebration of cultures and talents, and on Friday, performer Dr. Mykee Fowlin delivers a stirring piece called “I am not the Enemy.” Other highlights of the week include classroom presentations by Exposed Brick Theatre and our Annual Arts and Treats on Tuesday evening from 6:30-8:00pm.
Help is needed after school today to decorate the school for Diversity Week. Please e-mail Ms. Briars if you would like to help. Christian Service Hours will be awarded.
