All 9th, 10th, and 11th grade students will participate in All School Test Day today. Check your Student Apps email to see which room you should report to at 8:30am. Room locations are also posted in the Florance Center and first floor of the A Building. All students are responsible for knowing their room assignment.

Students will be dismissed at 12:10pm and afternoon buses will leave at 12:20pm.

As usual, the DeLaSalle Cafe will offer breakfast for purchase.

Remember:

  1. Bring 2 #2 pencils
  2. Bring your calculator with fresh batteries
  3. Leave your electronics home and if not, TURN THEM OFF
  4. Eat a good breakfast WITH protein
  5. Relax, doing the best you can, knowing you are WAY MORE THAN YOUR TEST SCORE and no colleges will see this score – it’s just practice, but worth putting forth your best effort!

All parents are invited to participate in Parent-Student-Teacher conferences today or tomorrow. Conferences are scheduled today from 2-8pm and from 11am-7pm tomorrow. Students are also encouraged to participate in conferences. Click here to read more information about conferences.
Learn about college admissions from the college side during this informative panel on Thursday from 5:15-6:15pm in the Robert Casanova Room.
Join us and help tackle cancer at the football game tonight at 7:00pm. DeLaSalle will again partner with the Minnesota Football Coaches Association and the Randy Shaver Cancer Foundation. Fans may donate toward cancer research at the ticket booth. Fans may also participate in a 50-50 raffle by donating for a chance to win a cash prize.
Give a baby something to snuggle into! PJs! Onezies! Infant sleepers size: newborn to 12 months).  And for sure, new winter clothes! Get your family to donate with you! Bring items to Lasallian Ministry or Albers Atrium all month.

Islanders already know that DeLaSalle has the best cheer team in the state. Help us spread that message to the rest of Minnesota by voting in WCCO-TV’s “Best Cheer Team in Minnesota” competition. You may vote multiple times but cast your votes before Thursday. Click here to vote.
Not doing a winter activity? Come and try out be a part of a National and State Title winning team!  Competition Cheer is an athletic, fun, and spirited sport that is comprised of dance, gymnastics, stunts and jumps. No experience necessary!

Tryouts are open to all students on Monday from 5:30-7:30pm in the LL Gray Gym. Please wear shorts and a t-shirt, gym shoes and have your hair up. We will teach you all of the skills you need to know at tryouts! Please fill out the DLS Cheer Registration Form and bring it to the LL Gray Gym on the day of tryouts. Want to be a doctor? A nurse? A therapist? Get a hands on feel for a career in health through the Scrubs, Gloves and Microscopes program through the University of Minnesota. There are 12 sessions; each session is 3 hours long and focuses on a different health career option, starting with occupational therapy on October 30. Click here for more information and to sign up.
BeYOUtiful meets on Monday from 7:30-8:20am in the Lasallian Ministry office. All are welcome.
Our school chaplain, Fr. Brian Park, will offer Mass in the Chapel every Tuesday at 3:15pm. The first Tuesday Mass will happen on Tuesday, October 21. Everyone is welcome and invited to participate. The Chapel is on the floor above the Lasallian Ministry office.
Congratulations to Hannah Steiner ’15, who has been named to one of the 2014 Class A All State girls’ soccer teams. Hannah and the other All State players will be recognized at a banquet on Sunday, October 19 at the St. Paul River Centre.
The Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board needs student volunteers at the following events. Please contact Nicole Zappa if you are interested in one of these opportunities.

  • Family Halloween Festival, October 25, 11:30am–4:30pm, Wabun Park (4655 46th Avenue S., Mpls) Volunteers will supervise family activities, moon walk, hayrides, marshmallow roasting.
  • Camden Haunted House, October 27, 29, 31, 5:30–9:30pm, Folwell Park (1615 Dowling Ave N. Mpls) Volunteers will be actors in the Haunted house (costumes are provided). Need volunteers to commit to all 3 days.
  • Halloween Party, October 31, 6:00-8:00pm, Windom Park (2251 Hayes St. NE, Mpls) Volunteers will supervise games, treatgive-away, Bounce House, or serve food.
